So that means your link to their pcbuilder page was completely redundant?

Thumbs up

Big thumbs up to Computer Lounge for the source of my latest PC build.

Competitive pricing (one stop online shop and using pricespy to compare they were still No. 1)
5% discount for online ordering
No surcharge for using credit card
Called me when a part was not available and offered a suitable alternative (Corsair 450W PSU instead of 520W version)
Ordered 9 am Monday - All parts arrived 10 am the next morning.

Only improvement I could offer is that stock availability is reflected on the website or at least the shopping cart (as is done by Ascent).

PC is up and running.

No, it only means they don't do COMPLETE custom builds: EG They won't build a Shuttle for you - you have to work within their system.

There's no compatibility checking on there at all. All it is is a shopping cart with categories. Surely there's something I'm not getting?

I've just bought $900 worth of parts from Computerlounge. They've been good previously, will let you know how it goes this time. I'm not expecting problems, they seem professional.

Bad experience with Expert-infotech.

Made an order on the 5th for $4k worth of items, four items. Paid for it on the 5th. According to their website, all items are in stock. I pay for a fast 1-2 day courier because I need it fast.

On the 7th the status isnt updated so I email them, they're double checking with me how much the order was for, what reference I used etc.

On the 10th, it's finally updated to say Payment Received, will ship asap.

On the 12th I email them again, to say I would have expected to see a track & trace number by now. No reply

On the 13th I ring them to see what the hold up is. They say that the items should arrive in their warehouse tomorrow(They said they were in stock!!!!) and it'll be out the door as soon as they arrive.

On the 14th (today) I ring them again, just to make sure they'll be sent today. After being on hold listening to their MIDI hold music, I'm told that three of the items should arrive at their warehouse today, but one wont arrive at their warehouse until monday.

Will update when I finally get a tracking number and finally get the items.
Angry.

These places all say "in stock" even though they hold stock of (almost) nothing themselves. They order it from the supplier, often to be shipped directly to you. If you need anything in a hurry, fuck the online places and go to a local store and grab it off the shelf. The extra 10-20% is the peace-of-mind price you pay for knowing you have the item and aren't at the whim of some cheap-as-fuck run-my-own-business-from-my-garage online-only 2% margin wanker who doesn't give a shit about service and will promise anything just to see your money in their account.

Via the store itself, I think they're fine. I've got about 2k+ of gear from them cause they're local and their prices are pretty good. But yeah I do think they could work on their online side of things. Even a simple e-mail inquiry can take a day or two.

Save your money and yourself the headache (if you can) and head around the corner to PBTech.
I was sold a couple of so-called "new" motherboards that were quite obviously someone else's RMA. In the end I demanded a refund and got one back minus their crappy "restocking fee" (read: putting the faulty motherboard back in its box and placing it around the corner out of sight, where they could then try and sell it as "new").

wait, the gear was faulty and they still charged you a restocking fee? the only time a retailer should charge you a restocking fee is if you change your mind and they have to go through the struggle of trying to return it to the supplier for a credit because they ordered it specially

Same price as importing them from the US myself, but claimed a 1-2 delivery time, as opposed to the 8-10 day delivery the store in the US promised. I needed the goods in a 2 week timeframe, so rather than "risk" it taking 10 days, I went for the 1-2 day delivery.

9 days later....

It took two weeks to get to this point, and I was over it by this time. Their "technician" apparently "tested" the faulty motherboard and said "no fault found" (note that this all their words, not mine). I would have preferred all my money back, but I felt it was worth taking a small loss just to be rid of them and their piece-of-shit service.

Lesson learned, I ain't never going anywhere near them ever again! It is frustrating to see all the fantastic recommendations they get on Pricespy tho - when their service leaves a great deal to be desired.

3 items turned up. Packing slip says 4. I complain bitterly, they assure me the 4th will be sent on Monday.

We shall see.

Emailed them on Tuesday to say the second package hasn't turned up yet, and to please send it immediately.

They just emailed me back, to say that it's all been sent out on the 14th.

Those little SHITS have the nerve to say that it was all sent out on the 14th, when the email below mine SAYS that they told me they'd send the second package on the 19th (Monday)
