played with an iphone for the first time today. just an ip4

wow, the ui scroll across workspaces is much faster than my jellybean ui(which is MUCH faster than icecream sandwich ui). i showed several people in the office a direct comparison and _they_ couldn't tell. felt like... 5ms(ip4) compared to 25ms(jellybean) from a nerd pov.

i finally appreciate/understand where apple users are coming from in this regard.

looking forward to seeing an ip5 in the flesh.

edit: terrible shame they went with 4", shocking.

I normally steer clear of this thread, having had both a GSII and iP3GS in the past and currently using an iP4S (all work supplied so I don't really get a say, but I've loved them all for different reasons), but had to chuckle today when my boss came raging into the office 'cause his GSIII had just reset itself to factory defaults for the 3rd time in 2 days and threw it at the wall. Result wasn't pretty (should have got pics)

He's a luddite and wants to go back to BlackBerry though so whatever...

So you've got two people in that image, apparently using their iphones to control the game they're playing on the big TV... it's not split screen and appears to be a single player game being played.

Am I missing something really simple that actually makes this scenario work IRL?

Well I presume it's just a demo of Airplay mirroring to the big display. So the guy on the left has his in-car view on his iPod, a chasecam for his car on the TV, and the chick is staring at her iPod.

In which case if it's not faked, it's a shitty image, it does not convey that immediately, it looks like they're both controlling the white car on the TV. /photographer.

Another reason why I love the iOS ecosystem -- I just installed the iOS6 GM onto my iP4 and iPad 3 and everything went perfectly smoothly. The installations were entirely hassle free and the files took longer to download than for the updates to run. My iP4 is now noticeably faster than before as well.

A lesson for Google/Android phone makers to learn.

Not true, Ab being admin god, is special. He can edit shit from way back and it doesn't show.

I think the timestamp thing for us plebs is if you manage to edit before the clock ticks over to the next minute, no timestamp, at least that's what I've believed since we've been able to edit posts.

I'm actually a little disappointed with the IP5 release, I thought there'd be a lot more vitriol. Possibly Apple releasing a new iDevice just isn't exciting enough to really get the anger juices flowing anymore.
