Back to Georgie Pie - as has been pointed out, Jesters are some pretty good healthy pies. If some guy has bought the GP rights, then hopefully he isn't planning on starting a chain of fast food pie shops in the tradition of McDonalds. It simply won't work in this day and age. You'd be better of opening a single shop to start with, under the George Pie brand, with a bunch of healthy pies and perhaps also some not-so-healthy-but-tasty gourmet style pies, in a Jesters style shop. The whole GP trademark is really no more than a gimmick in this day and age, but since it seems to have a certain loyalty and nostalgia value built into it, it'd be worthwhile leveraging that to kickstart a George Pie reinvention.

I used to buy GP out of necessity as a poor student ($1 a pie is solid value), but IMO they were pretty average in terms of taste. The steak and cheese ones would sometimes be entirely full of jelly. I was amused by the vast GP mothership at Glenfield that was usually completely empty.

I read the Liz Shaw one, well most of it, was very depressing. Such a feral beast. You don't want to read and look but the sheer grossness of it draws you in.
Deeply regretted watching the "porn" links while eating one day.
