Which I think means the bible is your only source of reference. Everything else is derivative.

I agree. It is a pretty shit story and the contradictions are huge. If you read it as a belief system of an evolving tribe then it makes way more sense. If you read it as a sci fi novel then scientology is seriously better. Hubbard being a sci fi writer knew what to put in there and had solo control.

Seems odd to take it as a static point in space though and declare it as awesome.

By the way you really ought to get the hang of quoting and referencing, if you want to be in the world of academia or even just pass the course you'll probably need it.

I wasn't aware that christians had any non derivative doctrines available to them except for the weird ones which got thrown out centuries ago. Like the gospel of Thomas... Feel free to claim others but be ready for that one to be brought up in any counter argument of why you chose the others when the church has excluded them
