the olympics wasnt really a proud moment for the chinese. "Don't smoke, hide those slums from view, don't drive, swap that uggo singer with a prettier one. Don't be so... chinese! The world will love us then."

Of course you'd want to hide the slums, you're hosting a bigass world event would you not make your bed if you're expecting to bring home a piss of ass that night? Akl cleaned up all the tagging on the southern motorway when Clinton came to town. It's all about image. I think that spanking the Americans in the medal tally is a proud moment for them.

Need Help with Italian!! Pronto!
Ok... normally I would not bother with asking for help on message boards for uni stuff (let alone start a new thread for it) BUT I'm sort of in the poo for this simple assignment... that is, simple if you speak the language.
So are there fluent speakers on this board which can translate around 150-200 words to Italian from English (and correct the stuff I've done so far)? I have to to be in front of the class for five minutes with a powerpoint presentation, and talk about flying to Rome from NZ, catching a train to city, prices and tourist attraction in present and past tense. |

Yea, but it transliterates the text very much like Word Lingo (translation in Word 07). This is only good for rough translations, and I need it to be more accurate. |

Her father is half French, that's quite enough to give her the Carla Bruni look.

I've decided that Simon Amstell (the host from that Buzzcocks link above) makes it into my List of People I'd Like to Invite to a Dinner Party. Along with the following: Stephen Fry, Dorothy Parker, Robert Mugabe, The Cheeky Girls, Robert the Bruce, Sandra Shine and Precious McKenzie.

Quite a few passengers turned around, saw he was having a seizure and put their headphones back on and just ignored it. I've seen people have seizures before, no big deal, just make sure they don't choke. Recovery position and all that. |
