Watched all of 'Secret State', with Gabriel Byrne. Not shabby. Deputy Prime Minister with a soul goes up against big oil and the banks, British drama eh - not shabby at all.

Started watching 'It's always Sunny in Philadelphia' over the weekend. No idea how I've missed this to date, it's fucking hilarious.

Five years is a good enough rest, started from scratch again a couple of weeks ago. This really is the high-water mark of American TV drama. Nothing comes close. Maybe The Wire at its best does.

I've just started watching The West Wing for the first time. Love it.

Studio 60 started so well but plummeted into an epic farce, what, a third of the way in? Real life pregnancies should NEVER be written into storylines. WTF was Sorkin thinking? Remembering what that show turned into still makes me fume.

I've just regrabbed The Wire for another run through but you've got me thinking the West Wing might have to come first.

Spooks has been at the back of my mind for a rewatch too. Might be worth interchanging Spooks and West Wing eps so I don't get too depressed with all the tragic shit that goes on in Spooks.

I can't think of any other character that gets so consistently beaten down

The dialogue is so fast and witty it's like it was written by someone in the middle of a crack-and-shrooms binge. As, of course, it was.

Seasons 1-4 are g-g-g-godlike. 5-6 are average stories and writing carried by the awesome cast. 7 gets some game back thanks to a broad story arc and the power of nostalgia, but it's ruined by the greatest shark-jump in modern television drama.

Naw, only bout midway into season 1 (dissapointed i didn't get a higher res season pack, tbh) Definitely in different leagues, Mr Bohannan, would fuck marshal Givens up, hard.
But, seriously, hell on wheels 4/5, justified 3/5. to date, at least.

I would agree for s1 of justified. s2/3 etc get better and better and overtake hell on wheels (imo).

I saw a Q&A from the writers of Justified a while ago, and in it they confirmed they'd signed for a fourth season and were wanting to do six seasons overall. Here's hoping it doesn't get Deadwooded.
