Donald Trump tests negative for Covid-19 after valet infected
What are the odds of Trump getting infected before there's a vaccine?

How about his valet only testing positive after being symptomatic earlier this week, and he'd been around Trump before he went to the PPE factory, maskless and touching everything?

Alec Baldwin has been playing Trump since 2016 so it's probably him?

Of course! That's why Kim Jong was in hiding, he'd been tipped off.

There will be a lot of opinions at 4pm today. No matter what is decided, a lot of people will disagree. Expect there to be a lot of noise, regardless.
Personally I hope to stay under level 3 for a while longer. While there's still cases increasing, there's still a risk. The last thing they want to do is go to 2, then have to backpeddle and go 3/4 again.

I hope to go Level 2 on Thursday. But I acknowledge that the people making the decisions are more informed about it all than me.

My dads got a very low centre of gravity (read: he's short) so fingers crossed he's not susceptible to such incidents in the coming years.
Hope your old man recovers quickly stn |

Holy moly, when did this get back up and how are my logins still saved =p Man when Covid19 got real I missed being able to hit NZG for info and discussion, it'd been my go-to for world shaking events. Great to see lots of names in here - hope all is well!

First things to hit home after returning to the office: Clock needs to be sorted post day-light-savings change. Took me until 11:00 to work that one out.

Hey, thanks Ab, yeah missed NZG more than I'd like to say. Lady Di dead - learned it logging into NZG, same with the twin towers happening real time.
Out and about in hamilton sign writing for reopening customers today and it seemed busier, people seemed hopeful but standoffish. My customers are hurting and frankly a bit in the dumps but i suppose its the worst time for them. Lots out and about, still distancing though. As a tangent, StN, how'd your chch EQ shite 'shake' out? Or is it in NZG archives? Was hugely interesting reading your travails hoping for a good outcome. |

I hope when WHO caves to demands for more transparency, they start with NZ. We could really do with some transparency of the health impacts of domestic abuse and sexual violence that is endemic here.

Anyone read "Trump"'s letter to the W.H.O. about cleaning their act up else permanent US defunding? Pretty clear Trump didn't write it - it's far too erudite and actually raises some good points.

New threat to the economy: Americans are saving like it's the 1980s https://edition.cnn.com/2020/05/12/i...ebt/index.html Didn't know CNN had a satire section... The real economy are reducing their credit card debt (ie bad debt), and saving more [capital].... annd this is bad in a "capitalist" economy because why? |

I would say a lot of that is just from not being able to spend.
I know that we had a different lockdown in NZ than the US, but I can see the change in my Credit Card balance during this period. I'm not buying lunches or dinner, paying petrol or parking, some memberships were postponed. I'm not at bunnings every weekend and my wifes not at Kmart. |

Same thing is happening here https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/121...en-their-belts
One of the first things I did at lockdown was zero all my credit cards from savings. It will be a long time if ever that I will get back to the level of spending I had pre pandemic. A lot of this is due to my age (45). How this plays out in the economy is explained well by Ray Dalio in a 30 minute youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHe0bXAIuk0 |

If the government is going to spend money to prop up the economy in the short term, it's got to be on those who will spend it. Bit awkward when your political platform is benefit bashing, which is why National is going to struggle this coming election.
