curious. the defence against a hand weapon was interesting - protect face and get into their arm space. problem i see here is if it's a knife they can shove it into your back. in my jujitsu training as a lad the defence was to block hard against their wrist possibly causing them to drop it or go lame so you could take it out of their hand, or be well placed to follow with a drop, or grabbing their wrist and wrapping it up behind their back.

problem with that of course is that to block and grab someones hand while they are stabbing you (i remember learning that kind of thing when i did kung fooo) you would need to be some kind of mongoose/human hybrid. get someome to hold a felt and go for it (as in really try to stab you) and see how many times you get hit compared to how many times you manage to stop them

1) If you are fighting more than 1 person, you are going to lose. You know karate? Excellent, you will look good when you get the bash.
2) If you are fighting a guy 30kg heavier than you, you are going to lose. You know Karate? Excellent, you will look good when you get the bash.
3) If there is a knife involved, you are going to get stabbed. You know Karate? Excellent, you will look good when you get stabbed.

There are exceptions eg. you got the drop on them before they released they were fighting. But if you're going toe to toe in any of the above situations, you are probably going to lose the fight.

I'm not the worst fighter in the world and i can carry my weight in a dust up. But if they have numbers, a weapon or alot of weight on you. You don't have much chance. Trust me, it sucks to get a hiding

My advice: Avoid these situations

There are some techniques where all the weight advantage in the world won't help you, but that's best left to people which wouldn't need to take advice on a gaming forum about street fights.
