That’s a direct quote from the Herald.

They’ve edited the quote twice now, once to “and research suggests globally that white cis males are the largest group of suspected rape perpetrators referred to prosecutors” and then to “Research shows a high majority of perpetrators are cis male, and some research suggests overseas suggests white cis males are the largestgroup of suspected rape perpetrators referred to prosecutors”

The Herald has now edited the statement a fourth time in the space of a couple of hours to say “Research prepared by the New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse,University of Auckland, shows a high majority of perpetrators are cismale”

Do you see yourself as a devil? Because to me it's obvious the criticism is about power & control of sociatal institutions. Now NZ is easing LVR ratios to allow more people to borrow (hopefully people don't just borrow more) to try to stimulate the housing market.

Given the number of people who complained about the price of eggs (which have increased by a few dollars), I suspect there won't be many rushing out to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars that they don't have while earning shitty wages at a time where job security is uncertain and they're struggling to afford to eat their typical meals (obvious solution: eat different meals). But I can't be sure, because people make dumb decisions on the daily, so it might be a good thing for the economy, while being a terrible thing for the individuals involved.

Big oof over having to "reinstate" engineering staff. So much accumulated regional knowledge that needs to be maintained or else it's lost.

I think the country over is going to be grappling with this loss of local expertise, trying to magic it back up and discovering we're not half as able as we once were. When it comes to dealing with the nuance of local challenges lapses take a long time to recover.

And I don't think we're done giving experts a hard time.
