I read a piece about the superdelegates a while back. I'm not sure if this is the same one, but basically it argues that the superdelegates will ultimately fall in line with whichever way the popular vote goes. I guess that's probably true if there is a clear winner in the popular vote. But if Sanders doesn't have a greater than 5% lead over Clinton in the popular vote, I could imagine the superdelegates propping Clinton up.

Can someone quickly explain why black americans are so anti Sanders?

I assume its because he's an old white guy.

But it’s worth noting that, actually, Sanders does fairly well among black Americans in the polls. Black Americans think that Sanders is honest, trustworthy, and so forth. They just don’t vote for him because they like the Clintons more.

[paraphrased from a reddit I read somewhere]

Because he was only a token civil rights protester. Blacks are sick of been promised change, for it to not be delivered. Bernie is just another white guy promising change.

The Clintons on the other hand, GAF and made black neighbourhoods much safer with laws passed specifically to stop gang related crime, and other bits and bobs. Blacks love the Clintons due to this, and this is why they'll vote Clinton.

Also, blacks are quite conservative, Bernie is too liberal for most of them.

Yeah yeah yeah, Sanders narrowly won more votes than Clinton in Michigan. Strangely - due to what I assume are the nuances of the system - some websites are reporting Clinton to have taken away more delegates than Sanders. No websites I've looked at can agree with each other on exactly who got what number of delegates.

One thing is certain: Sanders got smoked in Mississippi. Another thing: Clinton so far has roughly twice the delegates Sanders does.

Gossip amongst some of my Sanders supporting American friends is that they were expecting Sanders to lose a lot of the primaries that have happened so far due to southern states' demographics. Expect campaign to pick up with northern states' primaries.

The pieces of the pie are getting smaller though. Cruz is (slightly) narrowing the gap on Trump.

That's taking into account super delegates that can flip flop at any stage.

There was no way DC was going to be voting Cruz or Trump. They're voting for the established candidate.
I assume Wyoming is Cruz's home state (or maybe neighbouring).

But the fact he came a low 3rd in both is quite pleasing.

Man, if this is how wrecked Clinton gets in the primaries, mostly by her (people) own doing, imagine how things will look if/when Trump decides to dedicate resources into finding more things to poke at.

Didn't we figure out years ago that the NZ equivalent of the Democrats is Labour & National. ACT would be heading towards republican, but only just.

Politically? Sure, maybe. In terms of retardedness? Clinton would definitely fit right in to Labour.

Where I sit

Surely only nutty religious people would be above the x-axis?

Looking at where they have NZs political parties I don't think it's a very accurate test.
