Unfortunately, Jesus worshipers aren't as .. umm... overtly, and kinetically devout as the Islamic variety. So Coffee with Jesus memes may continue unabated
With this ruling, at least now all the stabbings, rapings, grooming gangs, suicide bombings, fire bombings, mass shootings, and general murder across Europe will stop. |

If only because of the current political climate. So far - going off that article anyway - it's very "he said, she said" with everyone she's claiming as witness saying she's wrong.
I have no idea if there is any truth here, and I hope if there is she gets justice. However - not taking anything else into account but that article - this would be a pretty clear "not guilty" so far.

While cool, I have some reservations that it means the government won't start funding it in future when they probably should be.
I don't know the history of it, but I've always assumed that was partly what happened with Ambulances. |

St Johns has partial govt funding though MoH, DHB's, etc, and also goes collecting from the public. They also charge (part charge) for their services.
Wellington Free Ambulance is entirely funded by donations, and doesn't charge.

There are benefits of not having to rely on government funding, particularly the absence of bureaucracy and interference by the politics of the day. This is why ambulance services prefer a donation funding model. If something goes wrong, as it inevitably will with such an emergency service, it isn't subject to public scrutiny. It can just claim "all care, no responsibility" as long as it's acting within the law.
Mental health services need long term stability to be most effective, but that isn't found in either situation. But the public doesn't have much sense of how intrinsic mental health is to all our lives, what health or its absence looks like, so we generally don't have much sense of how we're individually and societally impacted by this situation.

Young Chuck moved to Texas and bought a Donkey from a farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the Donkey the next day.
The next day the farmer drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad News, the donkey died.' Chuck replied, 'Well, then just give me my money back.' The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I went and spent it already.' Chuck said, 'Ok, then, just bring me the dead donkey.' The farmer asked, 'What ya gonna do with him? Chuck said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.' The farmer said You can't raffle off a dead donkey!' Chuck said, 'Sure I can Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he's dead.' A month later, the farmer met up with Chuck and asked, 'What happened with that dead donkey?' Chuck said, 'I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars a-piece and made a profit of $998.' The farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?' Chuck said, 'Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two dollars back.' Chuck now works for Goldman Sachs

And IF they approved it, I would be interested in what the mention in the ruling. Because would that then mean he could go and register his age as 15, and not get done for underage sex? |

The ladies - they think differently...
So I got a flatty on the P-Car, and so I jacked it up a couple of days ago in the garage, took the wheel off and left it on jack stands. Now I'm off on a trip tomorrow, and need the duffle bag which is in the loft - access to which requires taking the car out of the garage.
I'd dropped the wheel off to get repaired, and stopped in on the off chance that it was done - nope - you need a new tyre. And we can't find one. Best match so far is $350 + freight from Hamilton. WTF? So I suggest that as they couldn't find that particular size last time, I got some from another place in town - could they try him? Nope, but I could. Ok. So I call the other guy, who is getting back to me. I suspect he delay in him calling is due to him not having one in stock. And I call the wife, and prep her for the slightly higher than expected puncture repair cost. The day is slipping away, and I'll not have time to pick up the tyre, get it to the rim, get it fitted and return home to mount it and get the car out so I can get my bag down and pack for the trip. Then she says that thing in the way that only the ladies can. "Why don't you just go to K-Mart or somewhere and buy a cheap and nasty bag?" <-- Wow - I've actually missed that! |

I have to somewhat agree.
The whole question has come down to the understanding of one word, which is not as common as some people might like to think. Basically you can't answer the question and a definition should have been provided. |
