I pay just over $100 for completed roadside assist from AA. It's valid anywhere in NZ and covers 3 days rental car/accommodation/tow truck home if it comes to that.

Came in very handy when my car lost a timing belt tensioner. Tow back to Taupo + 3 days rental car made the cost of the service very worth while
