seldom - got an idea to solve the lack of neutral mobs:

create a series of canals as indicated by the red lines, leading to a waterfall (blue circle - that's right above the start of the lava), that feeds neutrals from that grassy area into the kill zone... pork problem solved!!

Neutral mobs are also attracted by light so you can lure with torches etc.

* A new water dwelling mob
* New tree types
* Reeds magically turned into sugar canes. They still make paper.

* One secret pretty block
* Cake
* AND MOAR, probably. I forget!

Bugfixes:
* Paintings work in multiplayer
* Disconnecting while riding no longer keeps the player in the world
* A bunch more state is properly synched in multiplayer
* Fixed colors going weird on PowerPC
* Fixed a horrible chunk reload loop in singleplayer
* Fixed most lighting bugs in newly generated SMP maps
* Falling sand behaves better in SMP
* Fixed a few crash on load level bugs

I think the WMS server will need a trim of some kind, so we can have some land nearby-ish where we can find some of the new ore. There is an outlandish quantity of new stuff, my word.

So, found new area... found area had lava, found lava set a tree on fire, found forest biome on fire, found bandwidth and server spikes because biomes on fire.

Sliodes fixed up spawn a bit, and now theres also music at spawn. Tho dont touch the jukebox, they're bugged.

so, I built a road (green line) out passed Sam's Oil Rig to a new island (red circle) for me to explore, but unfortunately it is across the way from a burning forest (blue circle), and apparently that lags out the server (even though I wasn't noticing it, myself - get some better internets, TB

).

So I was thinking of getting over to there and chopping down the burning forest, or maybe Sam, could you hack the game data files and put out the flames?

I'll see what I can do. There's a nice hMod plugin that includes an area effect fire extinguisher, might have to try and get that in action if hMod is updated.

Some notes, squid are now spawning in the old areas of the game. Find a place 2 or more blocks deep and sink to the bottom and listen for the sound of people walking on sand or dirt. Cant miss'em.

I dont know if coffee has been added yet, but various things were fixed in the latest patch, unfortunately everyone favs bug was (kludged). The invisible area bug. Dang, no more vertical mining.

sometimes I get authenticated, sometimes I don't
When I do, it goes thru a re-download of packages....

I've tried moving my ~/.minecraft directory... but now I can't get auth'd to see if it has fixed it

edit: get auth'd now, but cannot connect to WMS
