I sure did Just reinforces my current wish to see more; that looks like a great, twisted rendition of a seriously epic character with so much potential. More monster than sociopath ala Heath Ledger's version.

Oh shit! I didn't even know it was an officially speculated thing!

Son just confirmed it after seeing it last night - and even in a post credit scene.

After watching all the videos about Dr Strange before it was released. I wonder how long I can go before I find out what happens

Saw it tonight. You aren’t missing anything. Another marvel dud. The trailers are more interesting than the movie.

Late to the party but thoroughly enjoyed The Batman..really liked RP as Batman. Did an awesome job of being Batman who pretends to be Bruce Wayne at times.

Aww hell yea. Hard to believe it's Christian Bale behind the Godbutcher too.

And screw those that say it's not serious enough for Thor. It's going to be epic.

I went to a movie and the good guys had to take out this thing before it was fully operational. They had to fly through a narrow approach canyon, avoiding the surface to air protection then aim for a 3m exhaust port before pulling out and having a dog fight.

Had such classic lines as “Stay on target” and “ Assume attack formation”

Also it requires two runs to do the job.

And then Jennifer Connolly turns up and David Bowie starts on the jukebox.

They dealt with real life issues by having the characters having the same problem.

Beach football > beach volleyball.

Better than the original.

Once they got over the establishing opening gambit, repercussions and then cringey new batch intro, it was a rollicking good ride. With funeral.

Watched some US F18 pilots reviewing Topgun 2, they thought it was pretty sweet. I think at one point they pretty much said "Jet Porn".

Thumbs up

I just found out that there's another Riddick movie planned, still with Vin Diesel and David Twohy.

I hope Karl Urban and Thandie Newton make it back.

Everything Everywhere All At Once

Really enjoyed, highly recommend.

The buttplug fight scene, nearly all of Jamie Lee Curtis' scenes, and the rock-conversation-on-uninhabitable-planet scene were great

Now that its been a month, and I've suffered through as much of the Easter Egg videos as I can stomach, I wish to pose this question.

Much has been said about Raimi putting in call backs to previous movies - the octopus monster climbs the building just like Otto in Spiderman, the resurrected Strange reaching from the dirt like the girlfriend in Evil Dead etc

But none of them has mentioned what I thought was the most obvious and possibly earliest one in the opening scene.

Did no one else draw parallels between this bit (sorry, couldn't find a grab that included the menacing tentacles reaching up):

...and the famous assault by the tree scene from the 1981 classic that started out with this?

Or is it just not being brought up out of decency and that the first image features a young teenager?

In Stranger Things S04 when Max is transported to the upside down, you know I cheered "yay it's the rapey tree".

Anyway... Cobra Kai creators confirm they are producing a Duke Nukem movie.

I am conflicted :/

Interceptor oh boy that was shit. There was something strangely odd about it however like is it a propaganda movie? This odd feeling kept me watching it. I feel the content is targeted somehow.

Yeah - wasn't expecting a lot based on reviews, but I thought it was a pretty good ride. Second quarter was a bit Mission Impossible, second half was classic Jurassic Park.

Tim Cook's fate was sealed when he grabbed Nedry's shaving foam can.

And you can always rely on T-Rex.

Saw it last night. I'm glad I watched it, but it was only a mild level of entertainment the whole way through. Nothing amazing. I got a kick out of the horror vibe , and they did a good job with the Scarlet Witch reveal, but they're running into escalating power level problems, with each reveal showing more and more diminishing returns. They had to use the Worf Effect on the entire Illuminati ffs. Now where?

Dr Strange - I didn't mind it too much, liked the horror element, not sure about the music scene.
As marvel comic fan, I didn't like how they reference the MCU to be 616. That's the comics, and it is definitely not the same as the MCU

The MCU was Earth-199999 for a while there. Pretty sure it was in official canon media even if it wasn't mentioned in the movies.
Mysterio called it Earth-616 when he was bullshitting Fury in Far From Home, and so it doesn't sit right with me that the multiverse is now open for business and Mysterio was actually correct.

It was Kevin Feige who termed the Earth-199999 I think as a random comment.
The mysterio thing was dumb, trying to drop easter eggs that totally didn't work in. Im not sure of the full timing of everything, but surely Marvel knew they were heading down a multiverse path, and should have let that be name dropped.

Being different to Earth 616 is how the MCU can do anything they want. Because its a different set of heroes.

It actually annoys me more than the Mass problem in the Antman movies.

If only for Korg listing his top four favourite gods and including Tūmatauenga. And what I'm picking was Papatūānuku in the audience listening to Our Russ doing his best Con-the-Fruiterer impression.

Went to see it in 4DX a week or two ago; so good. Whoever programmed the 4DX stuff went a bit overboard just because they could, and it was quite jarring in some places, like being on a mini rollercoaster while watching the movie, but during the training run when Maverick showed them the valley could be flown in time, and then in the final actual mission scenes, it was fkn brilliant

I walked in and the lad was halfway through watching it again on the D+ and I noticed something I should have picked up the first time - when they travel to one of the universes towards the end with stuff flying around, a certain yellow 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 shows up getting spun around in a tornado.

It's like it's a Sam Raimi film or something.

I haven't been into foreign films in recent years, but I've come across a movie that I cannot recommend highly enough.

RRR.

It's a Tollywood film, based in 1920's Colonial India. 3 hours long, but a 10/10 enjoyable ride the entire time. I watched half of it one night, and the other half the next morning.

It might not be for everyone, but I'd give yourself the first 15 minutes, let them introduce the two main characters and see if you like it. Movie of the year for me.
