Nowhere did I claim to be oppressed (stop inventing shit please). No-one here is crying other than you for whatever reason that may be. I provided a literal example of what has been said doesn't happen, and now you're resorting to the same tactic you love to cry foul about when others do it ... "cry more". So yeah pointing out quite a unique context as a possible exception to the rule deflects away from the experience of minority non-white people in a society vs white people in that society.

Please don't mistake my response with one saying I personally feel that I have ever been oppressed (as lolspeed somehow inferred); in the grand scheme of things I lived an incredibly lucky and comparatively wealthy/secure childhood in RSA, and was fortunate to have parents with the foresight to see the direction the country was going, and choosing to leave to get myself and my siblings into a safer place. I am also not referencing "white genocide" in any capacity. I'm only raising the specific example of RSA as that is where my experience lies, and that of the family and friends who still live there. Finally, I'm not trying to claim that poor whites in South Africa have it any worse than poor blacks; that would be farcical and very easily disproven. Assuming you're interested enough to read any of this stuff (it's dry as fuck). White Farm murders: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_...n_farm_attacks https://www.reuters.com/article/us-s...-idUSKBN2711NE https://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/sou...GCRQYMJZ2H54A/ https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/202...-south-africa/ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-rejected.html Black Economic Empowerment and Affirmative Action AA was introduced (iirc) in the early 90's when the ANC took power. The idea was to try and help disadvantaged socio-economic groups to address the inequality under Apartheid. BEE policy was introduced later and applied to education as well as employment. Businesses are given points based on their adherence to BEE (i.e. the % of their work force made up of black employees) which can lead to further govt grants, and awarding of national and local govt contracts (you can see where that would lead). While the intent behind AA and BEE is both laudable and understandable, the reality is that in a lot of cases they have led to inefficiency, corruption, cronyism, nepotism - the govt itself is one of the clearest examples of these. I agree with you that an element of the white population is far from bottomed out in terms of wealth or land ownership (that will come soon if the aforementioned land expropriation bill goes ahead); I disagree about the opportunities available to them however. The brain drain of RSA is ongoing (for those who can afford to get out), and conditions in the country are still getting worse. https://www.businessinsa.com/bee/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_...ic_Empowerment https://www.lawyersouthafrica.co.za/...can-workplace/ https://rationalstandard.com/affirma...d-immediately/ https://www.brandsouthafrica.com/inv...ic-empowerment Land Expropriation: https://dearsouthafrica.co.za/2020/1...-compensation/ https://saupdates.co.za/news/just-in...bill-gazetted/ https://iafrica.com/government-has-g...priation-bill/ Disclaimer - I have only skim read most of these for relevance; I'm not sure if they support or counter my argument In fairness, a lot of what I've read is new to me, and it seems the number (although not the stories of torture) of white farmer murders in particular have been exaggerated. @Savage
Yep the the South Africa situation seems very complex with a lot of conflicting reports from both sides. It comes back to whether what's going on results in the widespread oppression of white South Africans. It does get murky with reverse discrimination as when you're redressing historical grievances then it's necessary that the group who benefited greatly from this has some of their power & wealth removed. Looking at the stats it still looks like white South Africans are very much at the top. You mention poor whites which is a good point as although they have access to white jobs & privilege they don't have that financial buffer. Also with the farmer killings any racial motivations aren't clear cut either. There's over 21000 murders and hundreds of thousands of robberies per year and white farmers are the victims in around half a percent of those murders.

What the fuck have I walked into? Also, I notice the forum now has about 68k members. We could probably start a pretty decent political party with a membership like that. {edit} Our party slogan could be "We're not racist, but party members still disagree over whether white people in South Africa are being oppressed, mmkay?" {/edit}

https://www.meerkats.worksafe.govt.nz/ as someone that has experienced similar over a decade ago, this Meerkats campaign is accurate.
Saw a stack of goods fall down maybe 10 meters behind a workmate from a "level 6" location which was the highest our forklifts operated. If it'd fallen several seconds earlier he would have been dead. Made me a bit safety mad after that and I fortunately got out of that job not long after

Hmmm - if you are a fan of any Lion Nathan products, you may remember the slight supply chain glitch earlier in the year.
A prudent person reading between the lines might consider stocking up before the end of the year - just in case. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/live-c...2RXIH2KIEITDM/ |

The US media seems to be making a lot out of Sen Kelly taking over McCains term, being a Gulf War veteran, and NASA astronaut. But they fail to mention his greatest achievement - convincing NASA that he should be allowed to use his allotted personal items allowance on a Space Station fight to send up a Gorilla costume for his twin brother.

It's quite a sight on Tamaki Drive today, with the yacht race. All the spectator boats on the other side of the harbour made it look like Rangitoto was wearing a necklace.
Those yachts have some hoon to them. Go from stationary to full tilt in no time flat.

Not sure I like this new feature where if you copy and paste a link from your browser it turns it into linked text.
Often the link I'm copying needs editing first and being a nerd, the links I copy frequently need to be pasted exactly as I copied it. I don't like links being obfuscated by text. Just as bad as when you copy www.[website].com from chrome and when you paste it you get https://www.[website].com

My Sachs Madass 125 that was stolen in around 2012 was recovered - from the bottom of the ocean beneath the Taranaki Street wharf.
I can understand stealing someone's motorbike maybe - but pushing it into the sea for a laugh? Mental.
