Freddie had Wembley eating out of his hand and there was no shortage of big names at Wembley that day. I've watched those 17 minutes of Queen's set at Live Aid a hundred times and every time I'm gobsmacked at how Freddie had the entire crowd on a string within minutes of taking the stage. He just strutted out and said "LOVE ME, BITCHES!" and the crowd said "SIR YES SIR!"

It's like watching old videos of Hitler taking over an audience.

Watched a video a while ago in which James May goes to the edge of space in a two-seater trainer U-2 (video, part 1 here, epic watch all by itself btw, probably linked here back then) and he mentions that if everyone would just have the chance to take a flight like that then the world would be a different place.

Anyways, just stumbled across this video which is taken from ISS looking down at various parts of the planet and it made me feel the same was as that U-2 vid did. So small as to be insignificant, yet so glad to be alive.

'Queen - Live at Wembley' is a must own DVD, IMHO.
It has an even better version of Radio ga-ga.

Easily my most thrashed music dvd.

Yeah, certainly a must-have DVD, but IMHO the Live Aid Radio Ga-ga is the better of the two. Musically it's a bit faster, the guitar's a bit higher in the mix, May's tone is a bit dirtier (which I like) and Freddie seems bit more into it.

At Live Aid it was during daylight, no costumes, no sets or props, no big lightshow, no pyro, only 17 minutes to get on and off, and it was a crowd who all would have been there whether Queen played or not. Voted "Greatest Gig of All Time".
