HENCE WHY FOREVER ALONE

I got an email from a police officer, either from an address I supplied when making the report, or just from my NZTA registration data. He explained it was very eaten away and good for nothing, so he's sending me a pic tomorrow before I tell him to scrap it. He wanted me to take it to the tip, but I explained I don't even live in Wellington anymore.

So you got insurance for it, right? That means it's owned by the insurer and their responsibility anyway, even if you were in the 04

Nope, no insurance - it was only a cheap ($2k) toy, and I don't have a motorbike license so insurance wouldn't pay out for any accidents I had - uninsured riders are the safest riders . It's all good, it's been scrapped now, no charge.

What about these guys?

Craigslist is raking in $1 billion a year, according to one researcher’s estimates

Not sure I’ve ever spotted seagulls in Palmerston North before but have seen them twice in the air here in the last couple of weeks. Must be sheltering from the poor weather at the beaches?

I haven't listened to Eminem since doing acid in Manurewa. That was about 20 years ago I think.

Because WandaVision, the boy decided to rewatch some movies.

Last night, I saw robot man announce that there might be a bad thing, so they should take pre-emptive action and protect the world. US Flag man said "Noooo - we need freedoms!!".

Then bad stuff happened and Robotman was proven correct.

Did no-one in America see the PSA from two and a half plus years ago?

Iron Monger - Stark's fault.
Ultron - Stark's fault.
Mysterio - Stark's fault.

So he did a bit of good, but he also had a hell of a patchy track record.

Welcome back you old bastard. yes we're still here by the grace of god. After an "OMG I THINK IT'S ALL GONE" moment in 2017, everything is now hosted on a VPS in Australia. The site was saved from disaster by the collective efforts of a huge list of complete strangers and old NZG regulars doing all sorts of things, including physically shuttling hard drives from place to place, as well as the financial contributions of a bunch of good cunts.

Thought I'd (past tense) landed a good-paying permanent role last week. 3 interviews with a well-funded fintech outfit that was saying all the right disrupty innovatey things to get my attention. Pretty sure I was the only guy they were talking to for a broad digital strategy/marketing gig. So I get to last meeting with the GM and I'm far enough through the pipeline that the guy is sharing some pretty confidential business plan stuff and, get this, turns out the focus was going to be on aggressive digital marketing using all the persuasive best practices I had in my arsenal to drive uptake of their nifty new tool/algo that would match sub-prime lenders to borrowers with bad credit scores.

*needle scratch*

Yeah, nah. Said "not for me" and walked out. First time I have ever been literally at the end boss and quit. Fuck, I need money but not that bad.

Every Sunday at 8am I go for a 10,000 step(slightly shy of 7km) walk along the waterfront. Every time I see David Tua. I always feel an overwhelming sense of pride, without fail.

I revived an old Mac Mini 2,1 that was stuck with shitty OS X 10.4.x and a spinning disk. SSL was broken, no update server, and the limit for that model is 10.7.x which is an impediment anyway.

Got the latest Debian testing ISO (with UEFI + legacy boot), maxed out the RAM (3GB) and put in an SSD. Had to go and buy CD-Rs (no USB boot on that model), but after installing grub-efi it even boots up fine without having to drop to grub command line from a boot CD.

Runs Renoise and Visual Studio Code fine, plays 1080p movies and saved it from being sent to landfill. Anything with Gigabit Ethernet is good enough for me! $30 well spent.

I bet he cracked up later that day when he finally got it, but didn't want to awkwardly ring you and let you know.

Hell, it took me a few seconds, and only got it because of the link to the word 'irradiated.'

Spent the day so far digging up the garden and emptying the compost into a patch for veges.

I imagine it's like being stoned. Concentration or any task that would require focus is out the window. There's certainly no energy for mental stress.
