I'm kinda glad Baz has got out for a low score in the last 2 games..that way the 'Caps learn not to be too dependant on him.

So you are saying that if they happened to run 1, but the battle was still given LBW then that run stands. So taking that further, if the non striker was run out AND the LBW was then given, they are both out? |

So after a bit of reading, it is not possible for 2 players to be given out by traditionally means (i.e. they both probably could if they dont get on the field in time etc).
If they had of given the LBW after the run out, then the ball would have been considered dead at the point of the LBW and the run out would not have stood. |

|
I thought the commentary guys -Mark Richardson,Simon Doul etc said this:
If the run out was not given they could then appeal for the LBW? |
21st January 2015, 17:52 | #89 |
|
They'd be able to challenge the ruling of the LBW I suppose? Maybe that's what they were talking about.
|

Well they could have always used a review for the LBW.
What the cricinfo commentators said was that they should have given SL the choice to review the LBW first. Then if they decided not to, or it was given out, then the runout review would take place. |

I watched the first couple of overs and most definitely not expect that as a final score!

Credit to the Sri Lankan players sportsmanship, I think every one of them came up to shake hands with Elliot and Ronchi.

I'm hoping the kiwi bowlers will do a better job.Don't think putting Malinga in cotton wool was such a smart move.He should have been playing in the games against NZ.

That's Ireland for you, they always manage to pull off one big win. They beat England in 2011, Pakistan in 2007.

I thought England might have been in trouble after they elected to bat and the very first ball of the innings snaked back and forth through the air..
But damn, didn't pick this |

NZ Don't appear to be having the same problem :P 57/0 after 4 overs...

What a pasting.. and yeah, this break is ridiculous. Crowd has to stay another hour at least.

Why would you even stay? just head off to a decent pub now instead of waiting in shitty lines for shitty stadium piss.

I enjoyed Warnie and Beefy..knowledgeble (sp?) and some good jokes to pass the time.I bet Warnie loved putting the boot into the english team though.

Yep half the stadium emptied out during that break. English just had no enthusiasm. They barely jogged to save balls hitting the outfield compared to the kiwis who sprinted like madmen for each ball.
Pro tip: look for the isle of the half-filled family section and walk there for beer: no queues.

I have 2 tickets for today's NZ V Aus game to give away because couple of my friends can't go. Tickets are for South stand, Section 325.
I'm giving them away for FREE. First come first serve obviously. Post a message here (soonish) with your email and I will forward the tickets to you. There are only two requirements: 1. You have to wear a black tee/top. 2. Take a selfie of you and your mate and post it here after the game.

I think I'll wander down to the pub and watch the Kiwi innings before dinner. |
