the time i called on my neighbour, same day. the time my uncle had his dog taken away, same day.

this is after a few complaints, because complaints don't warrant spending a few thousand to come out and get a mutt(van + 2 handlers, etc etc). there is a process. but if this has happened a few times already, you just need to explain that to them and maybe drop in there "we have young children playing around our street" etc..

dogs vs young children / roaming around in public are a hot topic. they act pretty quickly.

Next time it's on your lawn, give it some food, put a chain around it's neck and tie it to your letter box with a bowl of water. Your neighbours will come over pissed as hell and you can point out that the dog wanders on the streets and could have been bowled over by a car, you thought you were doing them a favour. That'll sink in more than just asking them to shut the gate.

If they "forget again", you do the same thing, and when they ask why you did it again - either tell them you forgot, or that unlike them, you care for the welfare of dependent animals, and would they like you talk to animal control and have them come round to talk about the responsibilities of dog ownership.

F&P tech came over this morning. It worked for him for 1 minute before it crapped out and gave an error beep. He didn't recognise the message, so went to get his booklet. The error message doesn't exist! Bonus points for me. He got a new panel and it worked perfectly. He called back to base and they approved the cost. YAY!

Tech was both surprised and not surprised by LV's response. So much for their tagline, he said (amen), but they were now owned by Smith City (didn't know that) so their new attitude wasn't surprising. He also said it's quite normal (for F&P too) to try to get away with not covering what they're legally obligated to cover. For every person like me who's stroppy and would cause a fuss, there's somebody who'll bend over and pay it. Apparently F&P have had an issue with one of their appliances, and the bosses in Auckland refused to order a recall. Why? Because they prefer to take it on a case by case basis and therefore safe millions from all the people who won't question the cost of fixing the problem.

Lesson? Be a stroppy bitch.

Bah, damn me and my phone etiquette. UPS required a GST payment to release my MachineDrum. And I wasnt able to call back until today. Over the weekend their systems had been saying a payment had been received so its all cool, delivery should be today. So on the phone i was all like "oh kay, umm cool... uh..."

then the lady whose case it was called again. I said "Oh nah it's cool its all paid for." She double checks and discovers that i still need to pay $105, and she adds "You shouldn't have called back!" gee thanks lady.

So I emailed back saying that my request is a flu shot.

Stingy fucking cunts make these cuts and it's always at the expense of the employees. This is the first year the H1N1 strain is in the vaccination and I want that shit. What's the bet that if some cunts get sick this year, the cost of them being absent would be more than the cost of the flu jab. Fuuuuuuuuuu!!!

My single piece of advice would be: for the love of God proof read. Seriously, it's amazing how many people don't do this, or get someone to check for them.

Also loltastic (and obviously not applicable in your case), is when you get people that put a little comment that you see first in a trademe jobs ad, with incredibly bad grammar and spelling, and then a totally pro CV. Yeah, that's not obviously banged up by someone for you buddy...

(edit - I expect of course that you'll obviously do this. I just read so many (so many...) C.V.'s lately that you can just tell are never going to get the applicant anywhere because they're just rubbish.
