BattleField 4
So what do we think this is going to be? just more of the same?
The trailers have hinted at sea warfare and also air as well. I'm guessing like, BF 1942 but updated to be like BF3. With ships, subs n aircraft carriers... If you haven't already sign up here http://www.battlefield.com/battlefie..._0313&websso=1 |

Looks pretty mint. I know one person who has already bought new mobo, CPU and gfx card for it.

Bump!
Currently playing the Beta with the same PC I used for BF3. Runs totally fine!
As for the game itself, so far so good! Though it is still at the novelty stage. Levelution (or whatever it's called) is great fun, definitely adds a bit of dimension to each round, tactics need to change once the building collapses. Plus it looks super cool from all angles. |

Is it true that its essentially just BF3 with some gfx upgrades and basic fixes?

I don't know, that really depends on your own expectations and what you would consider basic.
It seems pretty different (loadout and deploy screens are revamped), but still feels like it should. In the same breath though I can see the novelty wearing off and 'the grind' coming in, but that's always going to happen with an unlock system. |

Just played 3 hours of it. Its BF3 with some basic changes. Some nice new things like the camera, but not worth dropping coin on. People were already reporting hackers. Might screw round in the beta while it lasts, but itll be back to AA:PR I think.

How did you play it without dropping coin to get beta access?

Downloaded the 6GB open beta, not impressed to be honest. Feels just like a BF3 expansion with a new frostbite engine.
Saying that, it does run remarkably well on average machines (a laptop in my case). And the commanding feature sounds awesome, IF people played as a team, which is a hit-and-miss for public games. |

Just cracked level 10 (I'm slow..)
I'm enjoying it much more than I ever enjoyed playing BF3. The occasional crashes and annoying ambient sound loss bug is irritating but not game-breaking. |

I'm really enjoying it too... plays great on my 15" MBP retina.

I've spent more time trying to figure out how to stop the game from suddenly freezing than actual game time..

Freezes and Crashes for me have pretty much stopped.. maybe once every 4 games I get a ctd. However last night the game updated before any of the servers updated, so... couldnt connect - and you can't stop the game from updating with the way Battlelog and Origin work.
