Just had a 45 minute conversation with Chris Cain (blues guitarist if you're not familiar) - dude is seriously relaxed and awesome. He's playing tonight at the VUW memorial theatre, which I can't attend (because I didn't know about the gig and am already double booked). Pretty fucking awesome way to finish off an already pretty good work day.

Gives me some time to save up the USD34K + though . Plonked my deposit down dead on the start time. Probably only 100,000 orders ahead of me

As cool as they are, apparently the interiors really let them down, given the other cars you could purchase for the price.

Surely this means that Tesla would be setting up a dealership somewhere (presumably Auckland)?

Also confirmed that the supercharger stations are heading here and will cover the entire country:

Apparently? Citation please. Given that the model 3 is 18 months away from production there must be some crystal ball gazers out there.

Sure, crystal ball. Well, other than the motor journos that actually got to look at the Tesla 3 at the launch event.

Even though the model S is twice the price (more so for the 85 and 8D), in my opinion (as meaningless as it is in the scheme of things) I reckon they could have done a bit better with the interior of the 3 by taking the model S design as inspiration.

The big screen floating in space just screams "fuck it, put a screen somewhere". A little bit more work to integrate it into the dash would have gone a long way.

I'd wait for the Model 3.1

Reminds me of the BMW i3 interior, "fuck it, slap a screen in there and let's get lunch"

The offer I made on a house has been accepted!

For approximately 10% of the price of an Auckland house, I got a tidy little house on a quarter acre in a small town.

Working remotely for the win!

There's a school about 4-5 houses down which I believe either has or is getting fibre. I don't think it's all the way down the street yet. VDSL is on offer, which is better than my current ADSL. Hopefully it's not too far away!

Baby number 2 is 9.5 months old and is in the 99.2 percentile for weight.
So if there was 1000 babies, only 8 would be heavier than him.

No growth problems here...

pretty sure those growth charts are all outdated. it's like all kids in the last 5 years are actually giants. our son is the smallest in his class groups yet is right in the middle of those charts.

Depends which one you are using. I think the plunket one should be based on NZ & Aus kids.
If you are using an internet one, it could be biased towards smaller asian babies.

Made me curious enough to Google it.
Plunket chart has been based on WHO standard since 2008.

Popped out a bought a new turntable this mornig after deciding that the damage to the previous once (Earthquake from memory, but not claimed) was beyond my ability to fix without drama. Spent the arvo resurrecting old vinyl abd giving it a spin.

Good times.
