Not really. They run those short articles all the time. In the print edition they run in those little 'News in Brief' columns. It's hardly worth putting them on the website, especially as they had a long article on the same story a day or so prior.

This whole article is so poorly written it makes my brain hurt. Reading this is like sitting in the passenger seat of a car while the driver keeps bunny-hopping, fucking up gear-shifts and stalling. Terrible - especially since it's Reuters - you'd think they'd be able to employ competent wordsmiths.

A decision on the start times in the second and third tests is still on the table but the third is at the Basin Reserve in Wellington from April 3-7 and logic suggests it would be an impossibility. Day light saving begins after day one.
Wait, DST begins in April now?

Tourist injured by glacier ice fall
'We are naturally very upset'

LATEST A foreign tourist was airlifted to hospital this evening after a large chunk of ice fell on him at Fox Glacier on the South Island's West Coast.

The Czech Republic tourist was on a guided rock climb with three others around 3.30pm when he became caught in a rock fall.

Inspector Rick Jury said the man, in his mid-20s, was caught by a falling rock and pinned to the ice.
So which is it?

There's no Winchops Rd near Wigram, it's Whincops Road. And the number plate CR6361 is not going to be on a 1993 Subaru Legacy, innit?

There's a story about NZ flights being disrupted / diverted near Tonga due to a 'significant eruption'. Shouldn't the focus be on the fact that there's a volcano erupting near Tonga?

Edit, found it

Yeah, the noise from the hydraulic lifters reaches its resonant frequency with the body and tears it apart.

Stuff have no fucking clue how to do a poll. Often they present options that don't encompass all the reasonable possibilities.

Grandmother of nine swims Cook Strait
New 7:40AM Monday Mar 23, 2009

A grandmother of nine battled hypothermia to become the oldest person to swim the Cook Strait.

Rotorua woman Pam Dickson, 55, swam the 26km from Ohau Pt on Wellington's west coast to Perano Head in Marlborough Sounds in nine house and 23 minutes on Friday.
As authored by NZPA... I guess they just run it through the spell checker and hit 'OK' to any and all suggested changes...

Already changed to 'crash'... we're going to have start getting screen grabs, before the sub-sub-sub-editors read this thread and make the correction.

Shift, alt, delete for internet copyright law

Does Shift + Alt + Delete actual DO anything? Did they mean Ctr Alt Del? Even then it makes little sense.

Edit: No, nothing on vista, won't even delete the file I tried it on. Anyone able to tell me if it does anything on a Mac or nix?

Shift + Delete in Windows has always meant "Delete without sending to Recycle Bin" but Shift + Alt + Delete?.

Ctrl + Alt + Delete?
Select All + Delete?

^ I think it was helped a lot by the fact that none of the ISPs (Other than Xnet) wanted to do the dirty work.

Yeah and doing that with ALT makes it do nothing.
