Haha, did you go back and get it?

I really wish they made the scavenging better in MC. I think the most fun I had was roaming those abandoned mineshafts and mines looking for stuff. Unfortunately the stuff you were rewarded with was pretty shit.

Certainly would prefer more treasure hunting/exploring than stupid enchantments/potions and dragons

You basically don't have to mine for anything, everything is right there in your inventory. So it's kinda like a massive playground where you can put blocks down and destroy them instantly so you can make awesome stuff. Think of it like lego in minecraft!

Nah I prefer having to work for materials and tools. Having an element of danger is what makes Minecraft interesting

For me, there's really nothing left to do in Minecraft other than build. I have 250+ diamond, all other consumables coming out of my ass so mining is meaningless to me now, It would just mean I have to make more chests.

I would much rather build with creative mode because it's much more streamlined. The notion that it's rewarding on SMP because you "work" for your items is silly, as is the danger in mining. There is none. At best a creeper will sneak up on you and you run back and collect all your items. The only "work" is time-consuming, not gratifying.

Well you can still make it as easy as you want it to be in survival

Gets pretty boring if there isn't a chance of being blown apart when you leave your house.

It's not hard it just means doubling the resources as it's a whole new server. We do pretty well from BaM for free hosting.

I could make one on the Orcon games machine if you want and leave our one as is. That machine has heaps of spare ram

Also, you might find that everyone will go where the majority are (especially in a fairly small community) and you end up with one empty server anyway.

Ok, so I've setup a Creative server on the Orcon Games servers.

Connect to "games2.orcon.net.nz:26565" and have a blat.

Double tap space to fly (once in flight mode, space goes up, shift goes down) Double tap space again to exit flight mode.

Considering the way MC is going I'm having a fair bit of fun making a random creation with Midora on the Creative server. 1.9/retail isn't going to bring much for me that I haven't already done about two dozen times already :/

I was thinking a massive castle, I know it's cliche but I reckon if we all pitched in we could make something pretty amazing and huge.

Emphasis on huge! It could be of an epic scale! Maybe even with a village/city inside the walls?

I see we have a creative server now.... we used to have a heap of fun on the original creative server... before working SMP days...

Speaking of SMP, I topped up the three Sand chests and made some more KABOOMY at the spawn trap if anyone wants it. I'm thinking of adding a few more sand chests and maybe get rid of some of the rotted flesh & bones as no-one really seems to be using them all that much (seeing as there's no wolves in 1.8)

- you can fall out the bottom of the world

A bunch of us had a good go at attempting to lag everyone out last night.

Filling up islands with TNT etc, heaps of fun! Pretty sure that last series of explosions lasted for well over a minute.
