HAHAHAHAHAHAHA good job delusional leftie. Yeah Goff did all this to just hold these guys to account because he's a great guy. Phil Heatley resigned before he got pushed, for what it's worth. It's just that the rest of us who don't have a cock in our mouths and aren't gurgling away just don't think this was some honourable "falling on the sword" act.

Yeah neither party really wants to make too big a deal of it lest they lose their perks; and the perk-buster can't weigh in anymore since he lost all credibility on that front.

I hate quoting myself posting on the Substandard, but hey....
Wet bus tickets all round as expected from a weak and invisible leader, but not even a MENTION of Cosgrove’s offending? His rorting was the worst of all of them. Cosgrove, the Labour Minister who actually seems to have intentionally committed fraud in his credit-card expenses, has gotten away with it without even a mention from Goff. “Oh dear, the airlines have lost my luggage again, I’ll just have to buy another $1600 suit… no, there wasn’t anything else in there just a suit. So I haven’t actually been inconvenienced in any way, I just need another suit. … Oh dear, it’s happened again! … What do you know, it’s happened again! Boy, how unlucky am I. At least nothing other than my $1600 suit ever gets stolen, because the taxpayer can always just buy me another one.” |

Yeah I know, I think he is definitely in the wrong. I'm just loling coz I thought the same when National got caught doing it but then Keys mates at the Audit Office found it to be unintentional - which left the gate closed for firing imo.

Mr Creosote was a beginner.
Steak and Kidney pie. With a side of 4 fried eggs. And a ribeye steak. Still trying to work out how many people were at some of them - you'd think counting the mains would do it, but I'm not so sure... And what extras do you get for $26 at the Green Parrot on 1 September 2008? (Even if he did pay them back) Last edited by StN : 15th June 2010 at 20:27. |

Those expense receipts... it's just restaurant, cafe, takeaways, restaurant, bar and grill, brasserie, restaurant, cafe, over and over and over again with the occasional tank of gas. Jesus, what that guy spends on food in a day would feed a family for two weeks!

Banks will be loving this.
Not sure Auckland wants a mayor (Brown) that is lax with his paper work, spending etc and reasonably unstable under pressure. I surely don't appreciate this "poor little me, everyone is picking on me" mindset, he looks like a bloody 2 year old. The only way he is going to get through this is to be completely open, transparent, and own-up to any mistakes that are there. It'll be better for his health too, if he was completely open the media would pick him apart for a day or 2 then sod off, now they're going to pick at him until this is resolved. |

This whole thing is a joke. I'm not saying it's ok that they did that, but honestly it's fucking retarded that people just focus on something when it's brought to their attention then stop when some token gesture is made.
I could care less if we paid politicians a million a year if they would actually lead the country. Leaders are meant to lead, what we have (which I personally don't judge the politicians for, but I don't believe judging has any positive effect anyway) are leaders who indulge the every whim of their followers. We are being lead by the mass opinion of the average person. Which I suppose is the intention, but we need to focus on improving that, inept/corrupt politicians are only a symptom of that. Incurable as long as mass opinion works how it currently does. |

I don't know about anyone else but I shudder at the thought of being governed by people dumb enough to believe that they can get away with what's been done. It's not the money that matters to me. It's the small-mindedness, sheer stupidity, and utter determination to just have a few things on the taxpayers that I find very revealing about the individuals involved.
Is it really that difficult to pay for your own porn? |
