Well the bottom should definitely fall out of the housing market now, everyone will leave to live in France or who ever ends up winning the World Cup

I imagine that certain people will be worrying about their jobs now.

Hopefully this means that people will stop flying those fucking mastercard allblacks flags from their cars now.

I work for a news website and apparently they sold alot of advertising based on page impressions on the Rugby World cup part of their site, the sales guys were saying on Friday that if we lost today they will probably have refund quite a bit as the advertisers won't get the impressions they were guaranteed.

I guess you shouldn't count your chickens!!

All those flags will be gone.

I imagine a few smashed windows will happen too as people try to get them off ASAP in frustration/anger.

Try four years.

Frankly I can't believe it. It's because we are trying not to lose rather than trying to win. When the score got close (even though we were still in the lead) everyone around me started to panic and I suggest the same thing happens with the ABs.

While I am seriously gutted about the game, the general vibe in the NZ media is nauseating yet entirely predictable. Worst was at the end of the news on TV3 tonight, they played a slow-mo montage (montage!) of the crying, dejected ABs after the final whistle, to the strains of, get this: Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms.

It's the only laugh I've had all day.

Said to my missus yesterday something along the lines of "wouldn't it be hilarious if we lost to the French, in the quarter finals, and not even make the final?"

Saw the headline this morning, and started laughing like a muppet. Saw that picture of McCaw blubbering away, and laughed even harder.
Yes, I laugh like a muppet. At least I don't cry at press conferences

Its not like we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, more like we heard from a mate that the jaws of victory were really scary, and went and had a cry in the corner.

The media narrative is that "all of NZ" is upset by the All BlacksŪ choking,
they seem to have forgotten that
a) not everyone cares about rugby or sport &
b) even if they do, that doesn't mean they support the All BlacksŪ

Graham Henry was going to retire after the world cup win or lose.

I think Robbie Deans should get the job.

Could have been much much worse - could have been Barbers adagaio for strings as backing music for the montage.

In fact, if any of the ABs had dropped to their knees at any point, I couldn't have resisted using it. It'd be too platoon-ily perfect.

O ok...... NZ is depressed because the NZ Herald says we are....right.

We keep hearing in the news about the national depression...

I don't see ANY evidence of this apart from in the news.

Maybe if the Herlad tells us enough times that we are depressed, we will become depressed... ?

If you have power over their computers then you have power to at least run MS Words basic grammar check or something that will help.
Burn their PC? Wipe their home drive? Stab them in the face with a keyboard?
