i was looking for demonstrations of sterling engines, and came across this. usually im not excited by these types of solar collectors, but this one uses a sterling engine, reknown for their great efficiency, and apparently can generate 10kW over the day, which is more than enough to power an energy efficient house without worry. very interesting. wouldnt mind building one!

How could something like that be better than a solar panel. Solar panels must be terribly inefficient.

Know me: The other thing is that solar panels use high-pollutant chemicals in their production - gallium arsenide being one example. The Stirling engine simply doesn't have that sort of garbage in it.

Solar Panels very a lot these days, and the cost is dropping and, their efficiency is accelerating a lot. You can tell this because everybody betting capital on it.
