Over Reaching Councils
So with all the focus on the national stage is it time to look at councils and their abuse of power?
Reference this from Auckland's supershitty council. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=11345836 |

Looks like it's set by central government.

I have no problem with it.
Old open fireplaces are shit house at actually doing what they're supposed to do as most of the heat goes up the chimney and you can't control the air flow to them, meaning they burn super hot for short periods and then fizzle out. They're a relic of the past. |

That's because of your white male privilege. You horrible horrible man!
What about the poors who can't afford to spend 3k on a new fireplace? |

I have an open fireplace that I don't use - was thinking about retrofitting an epic efficient burner into the existing hearth - would have looked great, but the cost of installation was going to be astronomical.
Got a heat pump instead rofl. |

I'm guessing this will only apply in urban Auckland in which case I'm going to do nothing; when I considered the economics of an upgrade from a heating cost perspective it was going to take ten years to get my money back i.e. it never happens.
