That could be true, but maybe I over analyzed how the interview went and underestimated my showreel? I don't know, it was a great opportunity and I wanted the interview to go perfectly, which it clearly didn't. There's only 6-10 employees at the place so I doubt they'd get away with treating an individual badly for so long. It's an important enough job that they can't just hire any joe bloggs off the street as I'll be editing footage that will be going on their dvds and showing to distributors at Cannes, Sundance etc.

I don't last long in jobs where the boss is an asshole either, so here's hoping he isn't!

Ahh, small companies do tend to do interviews differently so it sounds like you'll be fine.

I'm guessing you've undersold yourself on your showreel because you see it all the time and can see the bits you'd change. They obviously hired you because they know you'll be able to do the job.

Seems like who you are isn't as important to them as what you can do. Which isn't a bad thing.

Well done. It's always great to hear when someone lands a dream job

So she does, and it looks like a typical 7 year old's drawing - lots of colours and scratchy shading. So I scan the thing, and upload it.

girl: "Did you do the picture?"

StN: "Yep - here's a copy of what I sent:"

girl: "Dad! That's not how it's supposed to look - it should have those nice colour bits and shading like the other computer drawings"

StN: "Oh - you mean the digitally rendered ones?"

girl: "YES Grrrrrrrr"

Yep, I go through a head of broccoli every 2 days.

However that'd be over a 6 month supply of meat if it was just for me; I'll be butchering and packing it tonight, but it's being split between 4 adults (Parents and sis get the bacon, parents get one lump of sirloin, sis gets half, I get half), and even that much is at least 2 months of carnivorous goodness (especially as I don't eat meat every day - although probably 2 days in 3)

I like meat. I like leather furnishings and clothing too. And I have been involved in farmkilled meat, though I'll admit it's a bit freaky knowing that this placid critter that is getting carked in front of you (no evidence of pain - humane killing techniques were used) is going to end up on your plate. Yes I puked.

One of the guys that was in my study group was dating a crazy bitch. I told him she be crazy, he said that she was just a bit intense. Here's an example of said crazy bitch: She made him put his cell on speaker phone and put it on the table while we were in our study group. She added one of the girls in our study group on facebook and threatened her.
Fast forward 3months to today and he tells me that he's got a restraining order out on her. He broke up with her and she went to his place last week and stabbed him in the hand and then stripped down naked and cried rape when the cops arrived

I wish I could tell him "I told you so! SHE BE FUCKEN CRAZY"
