I find it very amusing that BOP's odds of winning the Air New Zealand Cup have gone from $300 before round 1 commenced to $20 now :P I know it's an impossibility of course because even if they were good enough to make the semi's, by that time Canterbury will have the likes of Dan Carter and Richie McCaw back so we won't stand a chance. It's still nice to see their odds to win get carved down to less than a 10th of what they were originally though :P

Come on the Bay!!!

That Southland Try was a bit touch and go, they were awarded a long arm penalty 5 metres out under the posts and took the scrum instead of the penalty kick and scored a try so I'm a bit lucky there but that's gambling for you.

Sorry mate, but $4.75 was poo odds because there was simply no way the BOP were gonna win against this year's lions team.

Absolute demolition job today. Gear showed off his slick wheels, Ellison made a number of sneaky breaks, and Weepu marshalled the backs well. The forwards all had solid games, particularly Lilo at the breakdown.

Would really like to see Vito at #8 and Waldrom at #6, simply because Vito is so much quicker off the back of the scrum (refer to his second try).

Great game of rugby. Classic Wellington where we must have only had 5 minutes in the BOP 22 all match but came out with nearly 50 points.

BOP Management are munters for being pulled up for 16 on the field when Bay were hard on attack just outside Auckland 22.

Delaney was a complete muppet.
1. Rather than kicking into the air to clear it he was kicking grubbers EVERY time! What the?
2. Last play of the game, he chips it over the defensive line! What the hell? Hold onto the ball you clown!

Having said all that, Bay still should have played better.

I can't help but think they don't quite have the skill to beat Southland this weekend. If they didn't have that muppet half back I'd give them half a chance but when he clears the ball (emphasis on WHEN??, so slow!) he throws it about 15 metres back every time, what's up with that?!

My heart was fully IN MY THROAT when Cowan through that ball back for the attempted drop goal. In my opinion that was stupid. The Southland forwards are so disciplined, they should have kept rumbling it up right to the try line. Not ONCE did Southland get penalised for holding onto the ball so they weren't about to do it in the dying minutes. If anything the Bay would have conceeded another penalty (they had already conceeded 7 at the breakdown) or they coudl have had the replacement number 10 right under the sticks for the drop goal. Lucky for the Bay that Cowan is an impatient bastard and didn't trust his forwards! QUARTER FINALS FOR THE BAY BABY!! If only they can get one more win they'll get a home Semi! I'd be up for going to that!

Yep. They self-imploded magnificently. All their hard work throughout the season forgotten in the wake of a comprehensive hiding in the quarter final they were hosting.

Mind you, Welly looked shaky against Naki and I'm slightly nervous for this weekend. Lilo can't come back from injury fast enough, and I hope like heck Nonu gets shifted to the wing or bench.

Don't bring back Kirkpatrick either. Mathewson + Weepu is the schizz

p.s: how good was the punch that guy caught Masoe with?
