at the "capture zone" there was one bumble bee i failed to catch. My mantis is male and young i believe, so the bumble bee might have overpowered him.

I'll develop him until he's ready for a whole bumble bee.

I've spent a lot of time teaching a girl to reverse. Several dents in my vehicle attest to the effort.

All paid off when she backed down a particularly difficult driveway, between house and fence and into the garage.

one bloke even commented 'Shit, she can back alright, eh.'

Mantis' fucking rule man. A dude over here has one he keeps in an enclosure and raises/trains for fighting/gambling purposes. One morning he finds a black tarantula in his bathroom, quickly picks up the spider with his hand, and drops it straight in the mantis enclosure.

I was thinking 'fuck dude, why you killing your mantis?', but the mantis just pinned the big bastard down with his pincers, and then proceeded to gobble the spiders head off. Fucking incredible.

my mantis is a girl i think. growing quite rounded / fat and is vicious (2 female traits i have noticed regardless of species). I caught her another drone bee + a monarch butterfly today. now we observe.

its cute, the whole flat is looking after the mantis now =) it's little beaker sits on the kitchen bench and everyone dotes on her.

picked up transformers S1 boxed set from the warehouse for $10. wasn't even looking for it, happened to walk pass and go 'ooo that looks like optimus' head'.

now awaiting weekend so i can have a transformers marathon and rekindle childhood memories.

/me loves dinobots. my only regret was that they couldn't combine into a bigger robot to take on predaking.

Caught up with my father and his partner earlier in the week to - always good...

Plus my sister is in town after taking a break from her contracting work in Melbourne...

A nice family sort of week - even if I have been a bit knocked around with a nasty cold.

For the first time in a very long time everyone was driving in a civilised manner on the way home tonight...well, apart from one guy, who got pulled up by a cop down the road. Everyone else was getting into the left lane when a faster car was approaching them, all the motor cyclists I pulled left to let past in single lane bits acknowledged the courtesy, nobody pulled any stupid lane changes, tailgated, or otherwise annoyed me. It was a great welcome home for the chiQmobile
