The Daily Show seems lacklustre ever since the writers strike and the reporters are bordering on lame. Whereas Colbert Report gets better by the week.

Getting a few laughs out of The Root of all Evil too, but most of the arguements are a bit lame. Lewis Black is good value though.

Im desperate for a new show since the wire stopped and entourage has been off the air for like 9 years :\

Watched the first two seasons of dexter which was ok , also started watching a series called new Amsterdam which seemed to have potential but turned into faggatory.

Not really TV but hopefully this seasons anime will be better then lasts , R2 of code gease has started and we should see another hellsing in the not to distant future.

I highly recommend grabbing Breaking Bad. Season 1 has 7 episodes (season 2 unannounced). The main character is played by the dad of Malcolm in the Middle. He is diagnosed with cancer and decides to use his special chemistry talents to create some cash that his family can rely on when he is gone

Other than Breaking Bad, Journeyman (canceled after 1 season) is a great show and is worth grabbing even for the single season

If you want never-ending laughter, I cannot stress enough to download Kenny vs Spenny (4 seasons, 409 being the latest) - this shit is so insanely funny

Oh yeah i'd read that Zach Braff and Bill Lawrence planned to end the show with 16 episodes in season 7. And then due to the strike they decided to trim it down to 12 episodes....another 16 after this season finishes?

Those episodes—yes, 16 of them by my count—are slated to air on ABC.

Word is the budget has been trimmed somewhat substantially in order to have the show continue, so it is possible there might be a few lower-level cast changes, but that remains to be seen. Zach Braff is most definitely on board.

Hope they ain't implying the 8th season is gonna lose some of the essential characters.

Plus i don't want it to go down the way of the Simpsons(a show i just can't stand to watch now).

Scrubs already been looking that way in season 7(JD -being super super gay sensitive guy, Dr Cox being overly weird angry, Kelso just saying weird shit) and it sucks ass when a good show looks like it is clutching at straws for tired over-used gags that were once funny.

the same thing seems to happen to many, many sucessful American shows, where as lots of English shows that are brilliant just stop (such as Life on Mars, or the Office). More often than not Americans just can't seem to leave any money on the table when it comes to their tv programs, running them out rather than finishing on a high.
