There's shows like

The Walking Dead I would like to watch but just haven't and others!

Even looking at the list I currently watch and then reviewing the shit I'm falling behind on, I wonder where I get the time........... being employed, having a job and a gf, and the gym = priorities etc.

The 7 shows in my current watch list are seriously top of the pecking order.. It's a good blend I feel.

I agree, who the fuck wants to see zombies getting killed, repeatedly. Surely we've seen enough of that over the last 10 - 30 years? Both in serious and comedy form. There's literally nothing original left (although the stomach examination scene was pretty cool...it was lifted directly from Jaws so not that original, just a bit of a different take from modern cinema).

But yeah. Character development is where it's at, I think. The perfect example being the recently mentioned Misfits. You don't end up caring that much about their powers, it's all about who they are as people and how they deal with it. And that's what's interesting.

I'm hoping TWD will go the same way. I haven't read any of the graphic novels though. So obviously the story is somewhat plotted out already.

Not defending the premise, but I understand they're in an alternate past universe. However this does not entirely preclude an asteroid striking.

Thats right, I stand corrected..going back to epi 1 they sent some orb thing back they couldn't find in the future which meant it was an alternate universe..

Well, this is a likely scenario at any point in history. In Terra Nova they should have a good idea of when it might happen (and how long they have before it does - i.e. hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years.)
