I've been thinking that lately some of the more recent thread titles could also double as song titles...

any of you guys know of some good free music / audio software that'll help newcomers? Things like midi sequencers, multi tracking, and such?

I'm having a hunt around but nothing is quite as user friendly as I would like (namely Jazz++ midi, Sony's Acid Express). Acid Express is good... but it's severely limited in all the wrong places

I'm not sure its what you are looking for, but Fruity Loops was recently put up for free download (not sure if it still is free)

From memory that was like a digital studio type thing
(official non musically inclined term there)

yeah fruity loops would be good if there is a free version lying about

I have an ISO of FL which I downloaded when they had it up for free download... somewhere. I could stick it up somewhere if I find it.
