Thought I'd heard they were playing at that stadium out in Waitakere?
I'm not sure Slipknot could fill Vector. |

I'm not one of those "I hate the bands you like" guys but my goodness, Slipknot? It's metal for 12 year olds who wish they were old enough to get their eyebrow pierced and dye there hair black.
But F*%K YEAH Machinehead! The Blackening is a serious return to form from them and I was bitterly disappointed when their last show fell through and I had to go get my tickets refunded. It's a darn shame that they aren't headlining their own show as I would love to see a full length set from them rather than see those other two boring, sub par bands which I've seen before. And I would prefer not having hordes of 15 year old dudes in black lipstick buzzing around. But glad to hear MH are heading down. |

Man I would have been so into this if it'd been these bands when I was 16-17 (7 years ago). Too bad I guess, times have changed and so has my taste in metal.
Am sure they will put on a good show for the fans though. |

i have to say that i would probably go but im just growing out of all the hardcore metal. slipknots latest stuff just doesnt seem to get to me well. maybe its just me.
now if Lamb Of God came back.....ill be there. I went to slayer when they came, i wish i didnt. i appreciate the technical element of their music along side the technical stuff slipknot does but i need feel good rock n roll like Foo Fighters or Led Zepplin. I wish I could see Zep or Black Sabbath, or even the Beatles. I wanna buy time machine to go back then.

there latest stuff isnt even close to hard because the lead singer fellow can't scream anymore, or he will not be able to sing anymore
something like that anyhow i had thought they split because of that..

If you don't care what other people think then surely you shouldn't care too much about my opinion of Slipknot. I'm sorry if I sounded like a troll or whatever it's just that I've been waiting to see MH since I was a kid and I'm very disappointed that their only show here is going to be "supporting" a band which I can't stand. I was so pissed off when people kept going on and on about how great the "Disasterpieces" DVD was and I finally picked it up and to me it's fucking pathetic music. More like a theatre show with some "metal" mimes. But like I said, that's just my opinion and by no means am I trying to school you on what you should be listening too. It's not your fault your ears don't work Last edited by chris : 30th July 2008 at 15:32. |

I guess the going rate for World Famous bands is going to be up that high now, what with the cost of getting them here so much more than it used to be, even a few years back.
That said, I paid $175 for Bowie back in 2004... (so fucking worth it), and the combined cost of getting to Auckland + accommodation + ticket would be closer to $300 for when I've gone up to see Placebo or Marilyn Manson (and would do for NIN). Kinda makes the Big Day Out look like a bargain by comparison!

Once again, the NZ public whinge and cry at ticket prices.
Get over it for once and for all. I just saw a sign in London for Dolly Parton, tickets were £88 If you want to go see the big acts in monstrous arenas, be prepared to pay big money. |

$60-$80 would be a reasonable going price for most major acts up until recently. I remember when the Backstreet Boys (I think... one of the MASSIVE boy bands back in the last 90's, early 00's) came, and they were only $50 (which I know because I fondly remember how every single pre-teen girl they interviewed on TV after the show talked about how it was totally, totally worth the $50 - which was cheap for a major act.

yeh the $200 for NIN was worth every single penny, just the visual effects were worth that, absolutely stunning with the three huge screens old trent has control of now.
piggy on a double bass FTW also.
