Dude, IMO? RING the cops, explain where/when it was found, get them to say if they want you to approach the bank or just hand it in and let them approach the bank.

As for the video? Generally only gets checked if the ATM gets damaged. Finding the notes is NOT stealing, and as long as you're doing something in good faith to get it back to the person that left it there, where's the problem?

Either that or just keep it and don't tell you mrs.

Why didn't she just hand them in at the time? At an ATM there are a heap of cameras on you so she will be on tape as taking the money. The person before will tell the bank its missing, they then find who was the next user and voila. Return it to the bank ASAP.

IMO If the atm was attatched to a bank she should have handed it in, if it was a stand alone one she should have called them or left it. Its not her money and she removed it. Not sure why you would go to a police station when you know it is the banks money and the bank can find out the owner.....unless youre hoping the time will lapse and you get it back.

Yeah I don't agree with that. It's not a monopoly situation, there's no barriers to starting up a competing business. I don't doubt there are parallels, and I'm no apple fanboi (don't even own an i-anything) but that's just too much.

Proprietary standards help maintain monopoly dominance. It's one of those aspects of capitalist free-market ideology that proves that capitalism isn't about a free-market. It really needs to be regulated - anything like that released needs to be done so on open standards then the free-market will actually work.

ATMs don't dish out $50 notes do they? In which case, looking for the previous ATM user would not neccessarily be conclusive. The bank could trace them and ask of course. I'd say visit the cop shop.

Tried to have a look at nzgames.com on the internet archive and note that it's been blocked due to robots.txt. I guess this is because certain gas stations in Forrest Hill prompted the exclusion from search engines - but I think it would be cool to allow the archive to store the site.
Or can you not have a white list in a robots.txt?

A suspicion - and just a suspicion, mind you - is that Paradise didn't want the extra traffic from wayback machine / google / etc crawling the site, reducing performance for the site's users and creating extra international traffic.
