Just watched terminator Genesys.

Something that always disappoints is how lacking they make robots on screen.

I'm not sure if anyone's played with an electret microphone before but I can tell you they are sensitive beyond imagination. Try rubbing two fingers together next to your ear. What you hear is something of a russling sound and if you listen carefully enough you might pick up a distinctive noise as the groves from your finger prints rub together. An electret microphone can present this sound as clearly as the teeth of two combs rubbing together. Pressing your fingers together and separating them sounds like celotape being pulled off a surface. Listening to your breathing is like listening to air rushing in and out of an odd tube. Listening through one of these microphones feels like your ears have suddenly been given a microscope.

Microwave motion sensors are a thing, in fact so is microwave imaging. That is, motion and objects can be detected through walls and is incredibly sensitive.

Or infrared imaging that shows footprints and red heat marks everywhere a warm bloodied animal has been.

Yeah, try running from a machine with that kit.

Found an old application form because back in the day you had to fill out a Word document for the internets:

√Jet 2000 Monthly: $64.90 ($29.95 paid to Telecom/ $34.95 paid to Ihug)
Installation fee: $178.00 (paid to Telecom)

10 GB International traffic limit per month. The following excess data charges apply:
6 cents per MB between 4pm – 1am and 2 cents per MB between 1am – 4pm.
NOTE: Ihug will bill any excess data charges.

*Initial payment to Ihug is required. Please enclose a cheque made out to ‘Ihug’ for $34.95 when you return this application form.

no, I'm sure a script that checks for the existence of an obscure username and which, if the check fails, automatically creates that user and gives it admin privileges is a perfectly normal thing to have in header.php, I wouldn't worry about it

This whole NSA toolkit leak is interesting:

There are no doubt some gleeful hackers/psychopaths (at least those not already working for the government) out there right now.
