How many jobs have you had?

3 companies, 4 jobs. All have lasted about 3yrs, one was a transfer internationally so i guess counts as another job.

Man, like 5 kitchenhand jobs, 1 telemarketing, 1 sales, tried helping people with head injuries rehabilitate for a bit, did a six month stint lifting heavy things and putting them down somewhere else for Allied Work Force, been a DOC ranger twice, WINZ Case Manager, and MED phone jockey. I've occasionally freelanced on some of the worst PHP known to man, and I've been a fulltime developer for the last two years.

So... like... 14-ish? Bear in mind that I've been working (albeit with large gaps when I was younger) since I was 16 though, and most of them weren't exactly long-term positions. Real, career-esque jobs, I'm onto my 4th.

What about postal workers? They ride around delivering stuff. Basically the same thing, just more hours. Or is it shift length that you think qualifies it as a job?

Postal workers do it full time, 6 days a week. Paper boys do it for a few hours after school. But given your exciting plethora of jobs,

In high school, I worked at a dairy, then at McDonalds.. (but I won't add those in the final count)

Spent my first few years of full time employment working in Insurance. Moved on to credit control for another couple of years. Moved on to IT around 10 years ago. I won't be going back to full time work until the eldest kids is at school, which is another year or so away..

So, in roughly 15 years I have had 7 different job titles, but only 5 different companies.

I've been in IT 10 years now. I've worked for 3 companies, or 5 companies, depending on how you look at it, as one company was purchased by another, and in my current role I've been outsourced (groan). It was frustrating because I turned down numerous roles at telecommunications companies after arriving in London, only to end up being transferred to one 2.5 years later.

Thankfully I'm handing in my notice tomorrow, as I'm starting a new position at a financial institution in a month.

Since I turned 16 (in rough chronological order): road worker, 3 east tamaki factories, 1 bar, 1 gym, 2 restaurants, skytv, alt tv, online magazine, film company now currently at a production company.

Nothing in IT though.
