Anyone know of any good holiday plans for either fibre or 4G/5G?

Option 1: Tether your phone while you're there.
Option 2: Buy a $10-20pm prepay sim and use a 4G capable router Option 3: 4G Broadband from 2degrees for $45 per month gets you 300GB per month Wireless 4G. $540 per year, so it depends if that's beyond your budget.

Having an extended family there would probably eat that shit up quickly. That would rule out option 2. Option 1: My coverage sucks, and if you have it to a particular phone, when that phone leaves, theres nothing for everyone else. Option 3 is probably pushing the preferred budget, but maybe its the best. |

We went for a TP-Link 3G/4G Router and signed up for the Voda $80/mth unlimited data mobile plan.
100GB of holiday browsing/netflix so far and no complaints with 6ppl in the holiday home. Buying the router meant that it stays as an open term plan so we can cancel any time. Last edited by Biggus : 7th January 2023 at 12:48. |

Starlink not available in NZ yet? Dunno how it compares for cost/performance against the other options listed here.

Good idea, but the first page says
Hardware $520 (apparently half price). Monthly $159. I think I will give that one a miss |
