I predict that if he wins, he will be assassinated by some nutjob not long after taking office. He's said (and done) a lot of stupid things and pissed off a lot of people.

Yeah nah, that would be a cop-out. No way that one thing influenced things this much. This was more than that.

I'm sure people are going to be completely rational in their response. And the DNC aren't going to be looking at themselves. It'll be all someone else's fault.

Yeah could end up a 309-229 spanking.
The left have to admit the pendulum has swung back on their ridiculousness.

It's more the margins that i'm thinking of. Without Comey this still would have been a surprise but it might have been the difference between winning and losing FL, or any other narrow margin state.

That's not to credit all this swell to Comey.

I find the "Size of Lead" infographic from NYT fascinating - initial look you'd think Clinton took it, then you realise just how many counties went to Trump.

Scary with the Republicans controlling pretty much the entire government.

I think the best we can hope for is he shakes up the status quo. That his election demonstrates there's still people power, and if you want people on your side you need to show you're on theirs.

HENCE WHY FOREVER ALONE

Why does America need to be great for the rest of the world to be great?

"With less than 5 percent of world population, the U.S. uses one-third of the world’s paper, a quarter of the world’s oil, 23 percent of the coal, 27 percent of the aluminum, and 19 percent of the copper."

Why are we worrying that the pigs might not get the cream?

I doubt he will be assasinated, Obama made it 8 years and he was black. And there would have been more nutjobs that hated him

I agree that the republicans having the house & senate is probably more scary. This is probably where it's lucky having Trump win rather than another GOP. The 2 don't fully get along.

The left just didn't see the early signs. The surge for Sanders and Trump in the primaries. That should have shown that Clinton was going to struggle.

We can only hope that Trump will shake things up, without screwing too much over (Or he will just bankrupt america within the first 2 years).

Also, has there been much mention of the Independants. Did they just screw Clinton over?
There were a couple of close ones, which assuming if more people that voted independent would have voted Clinton, then she may have taken a couple of those.

I'm hoping it'll be a good cleansing moment for the Dem's. They'll need to seriously abandon the status quo, and rebuild with a fresh outlook on what a successful candidate looks like.

Mind you, i said the same thing about Romney's loss in 2012 and look what happened there.

Let's see who he names to Cabinet posts.

Attorney General Rudy Giuliani?
Secretary of Transport Chris Christie?
Secretary of the Interior (i.e., Environment) Sarah Palin?
