Was about to make this thread.
Never good to see that happen, twice in 2 weeks at Jade I think.
Hope JC is ok.

Commentary just gave a relatively comfortable account of him, but it's scary when you see players unmoving for so long.

that is the first time in my life I have actually been genuinely upset seeing a player injured

They just said he had heard a funny noise and it was mostly precautionary , but still he dident look comfortable and there isent many harder chaps around.

It sounds like they're doing scans to be sure, and he's got some numbness in a shoulder, but things are looking up.

Yeah, looking up. I was surprised at how upset I was seeing him motionless for so long.

Motionless, apart from his foot twitching

Uh, sure - if you want to count an involuntary muscle spasm as "everything is a-ok", then I guess I'm glad you're not part of any on field medical staff.

Yeah, the foot twitching wasn't encouraging. Neither was the apparent pain he felt when they rolled him. Is there any further news about him? I haven't found anything new.

Rugby: Collins has movement after neck injury

Looking very positive.

Quite. A friend of mine was paralysed in a scrum accident a few years ago - he was watching this game and turned white as a sheet when he saw the foot twitch. He had the same twitch and it didn't turn out rosy for him.

Yeah, Weepu is the only one that's played every game since the re-conditioned all blacks have been back and hasn't been injured. Ali and Joe haven't been injured but they've hardly played at all so they don't really count. Weepu the hard man :P

Lets not jinx him now

And with the whole motionless thing, would that not have been from the staff telling him not to move, just in case, than actually not being able to physically move?

Yeah. The first thing you're taught during rugby safety courses is "neck or back? don't move."
