do you follow ARK Invest? Innovation focused ETFs. They also have a podcast called FYI. These guys go deep on the TSLA bull case.

Millennials only hold 3% of total US wealth, and that's a shockingly small sliver of what baby boomers had at their age
https://www.businessinsider.com.au/m...op=1&r=US&IR=T

Quote:
- When boomers were roughly the same age as millennials are now, they owned about 21% of America’s wealth, compared to millennials’ 3% share today, according to recent Fed data.
- Baby boomers are outpacing the Silent Generation in terms of wealth as they age into retirement, while millennials and Gen X are lagging behind boomers as they age.
- Millennials are financially behind as they struggle with increased living costs, the fallout of the recession, and student-loan debt, but it’s possible they can catch up.

I'd like to see this updated for 2020.

Looks like TSLA just blew its wad.

Is it normal to have +6% premarket move, shoot up another 10% intraday, then finish the day at -5% from Friday close?

I probably should have originally posted this somewhere other than the Covid thread, but headspace is a funny thing.

I forgot the picture - and the Judith Gerry comment reminded me.

He brought me home.

Then one night at scouts I got a couple of fingers crushed in a door jamb and again he was called and dutifully took me to A&E, winced when they pulled out the pliers (to relieve the pressure) and said I could say as many naughty words as I liked when they pulled out my nails. They don't plaster broken fingers - just wrap them heaps. He brought me home.

Even in my late thirties, after young Kylie misread the situation at the lights, and I ended up in AfterHours, he turned up so wifey could go home and tend to the kids. He sat there while I got plastered up again. He brought me home.

Time now to disappear for a bit, popping out to pick him up. Mum is a bit superstitious about keeping things at home, so finally, after breaking his first ever bone, I get to return the favour. One bloody solid box - and ashes are more substantial than I had previously imagined.

My brother runs an engineering firm, so when Mum said she just needed to hang on to him until the borders open back up and the Oz based family can come over, he needed somewhere to stay until interred in a memorial wall. With the Covid backlog at crematoria at the time, it left him and me a bit of shed time to build a box and CNC a nameplate.

I'm sorry for your loss, sounds like he was a good Dad to you.

I have to say I was stumped for a moment. I thought that was a full sized coffin, until I saw the fire extinguisher and the car seat, and was just confused. But it's a coffin shaped urn, is that right?

Yep - sized to fit the plastic box the doings come in.

I think we (as an extended family) had 5 birthdays during Covid lockdown - including my daughters 18th. She couldn't even shout me a beer for mine! And her school formal got postponed. Son averaged A+'s for his semester in the conservatory, but without the hands on dissections he had paid for. At least for now Mrs Stn and I both still have jobs.

Was a busy time.

Yes, absolutely.

And then there's the wrangling over just how much exploitation is required to produce our chocolate.

Which contributes to the shit like what goes on in China. It's not like they're this dark smear on an otherwise pristine landscape. We're all fucking mucky. In how we treat each other at home and how we use our power abroad.

It was the same back at the beginning of last century too. Wasn't like the Nazis popped up a wolf amongst the sheep. They were a wolf amongst wolves, they just dropped the pretence.

Although I think the pretence is much more compelling now days, hence China finds itself called out, the impotence of such calls a reflection of the nature of the pretence.

XAG = $24.3 (jumped 6% in 1 hour)
XAU = $1940 (jumped $20 in 1 hour)

S:G ratio = 80:1

Large cap tech stocks just lost trend, down we go. NASDAQ / S&P ratio just peaked. The era of funny money unwinds.

Next question is how high this goes. Conservative gold bugs put us at $5,000 / oz easily... then there's Peter Schiff going for scorched earth $15,000 / oz scenario.

... I don't want to live in a $15,000 / oz world as that would mean I've learned to shoot a gun, and my house is powered by a diesel generator.

Today's moment of zen

Quote:
A judge was forced to suspend the virtual bond hearing of the 17-year-old accused of being the "mastermind" behind the recent massive Twitter hack, after several people got into the Zoom meeting posing as CNN and BBC staffers and played loud music and even a porn video. Multiple reporters who attended the hearing via Zoom on Wednesday confirmed the incident. According to independent security journalist Brian Krebs, the problem was that the judge and his clerks did not set up the meeting in a way that would mute attendees and prevent them from taking over the screen (these are features that can be easily set when one creates a Zoom meeting). "Judges holding hearings over Zoom need to get a clue," Krebs wrote on Twitter.

Imagine if the kids took over? That'd be hilarious. Technology gets so complicated, only those raised in it have a truly intuitive understanding of how it works, the youngest being most adapted to current tech.

That KODK trade is fraud no matter how you cut it, but SEC are under DDOS from the amount of fraud and market manipulation going on right now so unlikely anyone will do jail time or even get fined.

Kodak went into the Bitcoin miner appliance business in 2017 too, and their stock pumped on that news too. We should thank them for giving us such a crystal clear example of why you should never invest in a narrative.
