You're the one obsessed with fault. Because fault means you can drop the mask and treat a person how you want to treat everyone who isn't you and yours.

Imagine all the people saying what they really want to say to a woman, that Golriz has to put up with.

Funny how the left are more sympathetic to an adult than a 16 year old kid when it comes to the trials and tribulations of life.
Yeah? Has Uffindell taken responsibility for his actions?

He apologized in the lead up to announcing his candidacy for Tauranga.

What retrospective justice would you hand out to someone who committed assault as a 16 year old?

The problem with people who align themselves with the same view as you, is that you only listen to others who align themselves with the same thought process as you. This is why you scream when 'your side' loses. Because, you think you're the intelligent ones who are 'oh so smart'.

As for me, i'm not a right wing voter. Never have been. But, the likes of labour/greens have lost touch and do not represent most folk anymore.

David Seymour explaining he doesn't want 16-18 year olds voting because they won't vote for him.

"Combine voting at 16 with civics delivered by left-wing teacher unionists and you’ve got a recipe for cultural revolution, pitting indoctrinated socialist youth against the parents and taxpayers who pay their bills"

I know three teachers and they all voted for his coalition.

I know right! Sharing? Fuck sharing! It's either you own it and it's yours or you don't and fuck off.

Right? Our natural resources belong to those who have money. Not people with stories about this heritage or those rights or whatever nonsense word salad that says something other than ownership belongs to those with money.

If you bought, it's yours. If you didn't buy it. FUCK. OFF.

These are our values. None of this "aw, what about the community". Fuck that socialism.

Odds have been updated due to change in circumstances.

I don't think she could get discharged without a conviction given the repeated offending. I would be very surprised if she was allowed to just walk away from it all with a warning. No one likes a thief, especially an MP thief, so she might actually have to own this and deal with her conviction like everyone else.

If the article is correct and the boat ramps are on Maori land, then why do you expect that Maori land be the benefit of everyone? Do you have that expectation for other private land?

The Top 1% of Americans Have Taken $50 Trillion From the Bottom 90%

Quote:
Like many of the virus’s hardest hit victims, the United States went into the COVID-19 pandemic wracked by preexisting conditions. A fraying public health infrastructure, inadequate medical supplies, an employer-based health insurance system perversely unsuited to the moment—these and other afflictions are surely contributing to the death toll. But in addressing the causes and consequences of this pandemic—and its cruelly uneven impact—the elephant in the room is extreme income inequality.

How big is this elephant? A staggering $50 trillion. That is how much the upward redistribution of income has cost American workers over the past several decades.

This is not some back-of-the-napkin approximation. According to a groundbreaking new working paper by Carter C. Price and Kathryn Edwards of the RAND Corporation, had the more equitable income distributions of the three decades following World War II (1945 through 1974) merely held steady, the aggregate annual income of Americans earning below the 90th percentile would have been $2.5 trillion higher in the year 2018 alone. That is an amount equal to nearly 12 percent of GDP—enough to more than double median income—enough to pay every single working American in the bottom nine deciles an additional $1,144 a month. Every month. Every single year.

Why aspiring National leader Mark Mitchell’s war-for-profit past matters

So this is the guy tasked with transitioning NZ police away from the Peelian principles, to policing by force.

Makes sense.

It was interesting. Sure the Ginny Anderson made a bit of a fool of herself, but if people care how Labour is "full of life time poliiticians" with no experience running a business or in the real world. Then its also important to know this experience from Mitchel and that he police minister.

100% no disagreements from me either, both govts are as incompetent as each other. Though, the media doesn't even pretend to have some balance to their writing. It's pure advocacy and propaganda shoved down the throat of the blessed reader on a more extreme level than i've ever previously observed.

Government incompetence is a meme and I don't believe it for a second.

Both the former government and the current both had/have considerable competence. The difference is the agenda that's being pursued and how the hurdles to that are overcome.

I think the current government is being very effective at achieving their goals. They've swept away considerable, very necessary reforms with very little blow back. Their donors are going to be thrilled.

The last government had to deal with the same kind of noise from the media. Disingenuous framing of how Labour were approaching housing for instance.

Sure, Luxon getting caught out effectively saying the quiet part out loud in his effort to claim entitlements might seem incompetent. But that's just him doing exactly what he's been elected to do, something he's not struggling with.

If anything the media are supporting the government with their stories of numpty politicians. It lulls us into a false sense of security "surely these dummies can't pull off any real buggery". All the while the changes with real consequences are happening behind the scenes.

Aus Migrants
Net Overseas Migration: According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, for the 2022-23 financial year (ending June 30th, 2023), Australia experienced a net annual gain of 518,000 people.
This is a substantial increase compared to previous years.
Migrant Arrivals: There were 737,000 migrant arrivals in 2022-23, up from 427,000 the year before, reflecting a 73% increase.
Temporary vs Permanent: The largest group of arrivals were temporary visa holders with 554,000 people.

NZ Migrants
2023: According to Stats NZ, there was a net migration gain of 126,000 people in the year ending December 2023. This is close to the record high of 134,400 for the year ending October 2023.
Breakdown: This high net gain is due to a significant increase in arrivals (173,000 non-New Zealand citizens) offsetting a record number of New Zealand citizen departures (47,000).

Huge numbers for both countries. I guess property speculation will continue as long as demand on housing stock continues.

Pretty fucked looking at the tent cities popping up

UK band takes aim at Deputy PM’s use of hit song after ‘Nazi’ comments

Quote:
British anarchist punk band Chumbawamba has accused Winston Peters of using their number one hit Tubthumping to try to shore up his “misguided political views”.

The band has asked their record label Sony to issue a cease and desist notice after repeated use of the song by Peters at New Zealand First rallies and events.

Chumbawamba does not share any of Peters' ideas on race relations and would like to remind him that the song was written for and about ordinary people and their resilience, not about rich politicians trying to win votes by courting absurd conspiracy theories and spouting misguided racist ideologies.
