Played the PC OB. Was one of the most frustrating MMOs I've played. Not because it was terrible, but because there is an awesome game beneath all the issues.
Issues like: Terrible UI lag. Seems all the UI is server side, so whenever you click anything, you get lag. None of the 'normal' hot keys. Well, hardly any hot keys at all. They seem to want you to only play this game with a controller, so theres no 'b' for bags/inventory, no 'c' for you character screen. You can't even customise them. No fuckin help at all. You get put into the world and let loose, there's really no tutorial that's of any help whatsoever. Want to learn how to craft? Get skills/find where they are? Better go to some third party website, or ask someone in game, cause the game aint gonna tell you. No jump/hill sliding. Doesn't seem like much, but when you see a mob down a tiny incline and you have to run all the way around a hill to find a slope small enough you can walk down it, only to find someone else has since tagged the mob, you want to stab people. Those, and the myriad of other annoying shit like badly laid out major cities and not being able to scroll around the world map when you have it open basically kills the game for me.

IIRC no FF game ever had jumping
FFXI is just the same in regards to learning the game If you have a Nvidia card you are likley to have gfx problems (new cards). I bought the collectors edition, but I think I might not play unless I find someone to play with from nz, because questing suck solo.
