For me it's the brain injuries. I have 3 sons and won't be sending any of them onto the rugby field. My oldest goes to swimming lessons and will probably join a surf club and go to nippers when he hits 5.

It wouldn't surprise me if we see a decline over the next generation in gendered sports overall. They represent a passing tradition.

But if it's happening here, it'll happen elsewhere. Eventually the playing field will level, and in whatever niche tradition remains, we'll dominate again. How culture emerges is weird, fuck knows what we'll get.
