only problem is, sometimes getting into tv series gives me cold sweats because of the fact they're so susceptible to getting canned (firefly, carnivale, arrested development) |

That Murder Club thing starts on TV on Monday. Has anyone seen it yet? I'm quite intrigued, because the books sell well, though I've never read any of them.

I can't wait for the second season of Metalocalypse to finish so they release the next album. There have been some sweet songs in the series so far.

Has anyone seen Point Pleasant? It was canned early on, but I just saw the first episode on The Box, and it's rather intriguing. Apparently they cancelled at episode eight, but made 13, which is highly appropriate.

Two new shows definitely worth a watch.
Flashpoint - based around a SWAT team, think SWAT the movie with a little better character progression, character acting and more "snapshots" of the technology utilised. Two episodes in on the first season Generation Kill - based on a book written by a Rolling Stones writer who spent two months with a marine group in Iraq, the book itself caused internal discipline on marines due to their criticisms of superior officers, has a very anarchistic feel to it. |

Large up Generation Kill.
HBO and the creators of The Wire, how could it miss? A must in 720p too. |
23rd July 2008, 16:43 | #714 |
|
I actually think Flashpoint is the better show personally.
|
23rd July 2008, 16:55 | #715 |

If they progress that Sam Braddock character in Flashpoint into something less over-the-top and clichéd "edgy" new guy, it could turn into a good series. Had to laugh at his Ep1 entry.

Hmm, Canadian series on CBS/CTV, I'm sceptical but might give it a watch.
Hard to see how a Canadian/CBS series can ramp with the likes of HBO and David Simon still. |
