I never wanted to be a wanna-be, but I guess there's no way outa this one ...
Since the Auzzie's seem to be able to put it togeather a few of us reckoned we could do the same ...
I present ...

NZTFNL
(NZ Team Fortress No-Lag) aka LAN for the stoopid ppl

Me, Ret- 'n Fatty are playing with the idea atm ... we're still playing with ideas atm...

Ideas So Far ...

Decent Lan GEAR (Switches etc)
Internet not essential, maybe for IRC etc
Use internal leeching (i.e. no internet stuff)
So far no limit on numbers, more = less down time

Server Requests?

QWTF (duh!)
Q3F2?
Battle Field 1942

I have some connections with an ISP so might be able to organise some Gear like Switches, Server (maybe) etc (assuming Wellington is locaion)

Comments & Ideas pls ... also please indicate interest at this point (no commitment)

I have a car, so can take 2/3 ppl if it's not in Wellington ... and it's good with petrol, so cheap all round

Perhaps make it a weekend one? Test you youngsters and see if u're up for REAL gaming

/me remembers 56 hour sessions of doom at uni ...

we've also got another nolag in the works which we've been planning/thinking about the past few weeks. so if you do go ahead with this lan it MIIIIIIIGgggghhhhhhtttttt confuse a few people, if they even remember :/

the first nolag was in 1999 so you're about 4 years too late mang.

Ok so this is what we have so far

#nzlan on ETG irc ... sign up there if u're interested, or if +t is on, contact me or Wolv

Two main venues from feedback so far are Welly and Palmy.

Far-Q has a contact at the Massey LAN club in palmy, and the venue has a bar which is always good.

I am working on a decent venue for Welly but don't have anything yet.

Lets start talking dates ... end of holidays? or end of July?

...lets get this going peeps, interest is there, I wanna see like 25 ppl there!

If there is anyone from Massey who can maybe advertise there? We could have a couple servers running as mentioned above

it takes the hassle off of you

I've been to a few lans (most of the nolags) and a few of the large variety and i must admit the best are the ones in a hall of some sort. Lan place is ok but small dingy and doesn't have a good vibe (but that's just me... the 100 meg connection makes you feel better about it all tho.)

Welly is a good venue, as its central to all
