And that still remains the same point of view - only a fucking retard needs empirical evidence to understand violent crime rates are rising, but empirical evidence exists none the less.

I just saw what appeared to be a perfectly real, red Lamborghini Countach LP500S cruising down Willis St. It had the number plate IL TORO, and sounded the business as well.
Made my frickin' day that did.

Jebus, a £3k watch? I know that's nothing compared to some platinum plated, diamond encrusted Rolex... but I wonder how much of the £3k is paying for the Lambo badge...
A bit like the Ferrari ones by Girard Perregaux. Or Porsche bicycles. Or Ferrari laptops. Aston Martin neck-ties etc... For douchebags only.

^^^ Similar to my idea of having a breathalyzer lock on cell-phones preventing text messages when you're pissed. I could've saved myself some embarrassment with one of those.

Contact Energy emailed me today for their 'annual reminder to let us know if you are a vulnerable or medically dependent customer'. This is the first time they've done this. Gee, I wonder what brought that on...

Tell them your cancer has AIDS and your rheumatism has colic, therefore you're highly dependent on electricity and please don't cut us off, ever. EVAR!
That's what I intend to do, anyway.

remember that story about some dude banking a sample readers digest type winner notification cheque? well my dad did just that - with around $US200,000.
turns out the bank(s?) automatically 'clear' the funds from the balance -> available funds after 5 days. not quite sure how it's all going so far but from what i understand the bank has put it into some investment thing, and they're fully aware of what's going on. the bank asked him at one point "are you used to handling this much money, sir?" i guess it's too bad if the scammers that sent dad the cheque actually have those funds available for transfer? my dad has a lot of spare time on his hands, and actively goes through spam in his hotmail looking for things like this. although he's stupid enough to actually do this, he knows not to hand out his bank account # or send money etc. it was only a matter of time before someone slipped up and sent him a cheque like this.

The trouble with being able to actually tie a tie well is that it's actually not uncomfortable, thus you tend to forget you're wearing it until something occurs to remind you. In this case a cat launched himself at me in an attempt to grab my tie.

Meh, Im 26 and have worn a tie maybe three times in my life? And once of those was for fancy dress.
Wouldn't have a clue on how to tie one. I hate the things. |

Me too, for job interviews, though I want to be able to tie more than just a half windsor in the future.

All loops done anti-clockwise, and you need to tie it fairly firmly. Get tie. Drape around neck with about 2-3" of the small end below the tying point. Once around, then around the back. Up through the hole, down, once around the knot, back over through the hole. Make sure the above are firm Once around loose-ish, over and through the loop you just made, tighten. Done. Skinnier necked or shorter bastards just start with a longer "short piece" If using a small-ish tie, you can omit the very first loop and still get an acceptable knot.

and often their editing means that what they are showing are not facts at all. if you want to be more informed you can often look directly at the source of where the news came from.

but when i say source, i mean the original source if possible. so if reuters reports that some study said "this" find the study and check that it didnt actually say "this if this other thing" if someone is reported as having said something find video or recording of the actual full interview. ...at the very least, get your news from multiple sources as you'll often spot differences in whats being reported that way.
