Just spent 90mins playing Need For Speed Shift. Loving the fuck out of it so far. Simulation as, very technical. Myriad of things you need to accomplish. Special Invitational events/tracks if you're good enough(and of course I am, ha!) which give you special bonuses/awards. You're marked at the end of each race on Precision and Aggression, each category has about 8 things. My precision is way up there, almost perfect but I don't really like being too Aggressive as you can end up wiping yourself out rofl

The invitationals have their own cars however, I've driven a new Focus, Elise, BMW 135i and something else.

Current driving level is 7 out 50, still got ages to go. My car is a Mazda RX8(sup PIE ;p) I just spent $135,000 on it lol, took the power from something like 220HP up to 400HP+ haven't even driven it since the upgrades.

In hindsight I probably should've just bought another car. I'm quite keen on the Ford Sierra Cosworth, always liked the shape. But that's a Tier 1 car, just like the RX8 - I probably have way more options, haven't checked.

took the piebat up to slipway today for the altezza clubs autocross. Was pretty mean day, real casual and informal.

The setup was one standing start and then a timed flying lap, my first two rounds I fucked up by doing two flying laps. The other rounds were all 1.11.xx so i'm pretty stoked with the consistancy there.

Car went well, had it sliding out of quite a few corners fairly confidently, so im really glad to see my confidence growing there.

the years are hard to make out. get some bottle corks so you can re-seal them after opening (see my pic) and test them to see what you like.

They're all 2008 except the 2nd from left, the Crosse, which is a 2007. I don't have a very refined palette so my thought was to drink the average stuff myself when I feel like a drink and save any decent ones for company.

My new Mains breaker box OMG. I bought it two years ago, and planned it all out in conjunction with a mate from work. He used to come around to my place every Saturday and we'd just hang out in the garage and build stuff. Then his marriage dossilved, and he found a new woman. He moved house and didn't have the same workshop that he used to, so tinkering became something he didn't do much of - aligning himself with the younger family he had now married into - he previously had boys, and now had teenage girls to deal with.

Anyway - I scoped what I needed to replace my mishmashed fuse box (with some pluggable breakers, and a pile of lights off one fuse) which had grown organically since the house was built, and then extended. I layed all the breakers out, got a pile of RCDs so I could have lights on one rail, and sockets on another, and managed to get much better descrimination - and then my sparky mate got cancer. So the box sat in the garage for 2 years.

Finally, hes a bit better. I had always held off asking him to pop around and help me with it, because it seemed that I would be depriving his family of one more day with him. But I thought "Bugger it - be selfish" - so as gay as it sounds, I had a bloody good day with my mate, pissing about replacing a fuse board. And by pissing about, we started around 11:00am and ended up holding torches on ladders as we finished off the last connections - just in time for the rugby.

The function of the new fuse box is secondary. It's very existance OMG.
