Wakanda forever, damn this movie is unstoppable. Within the next few hours it will tick over to being the biggest movie in the MCU.

Loved Ex Machina a lot more after watching it, so was thinking about slogging to the cinema to see Annihilation. Boom Netflix. No international release.

Enjoyed it - mostly for the world, but a strong directorial vision as well. Will be keen to see where he goes next.

I watched Annihilation last night. Made for some strange dreams!

I enjoyed the film, marvelled at Natalie Portman's acting ability.

From the Netflix:

A Futile and Stupid Gesture

The story of National Lampoon.

From a funny mag, stage show, pseudo concerts to movies.

And most funnily, Chevy Chase is played by his Community co-star (who it was rumoured he was fuedin' with IRL)

Also, the end credits song by Martin Mull was recorded in two takes
using that audio only. He's that good it was mentioned on Sunday School that his mate Jimmy asked him to move to England in the 60's and start a four piece band with him but he declined, so Mr Hendrix went by himself.

Lots of fourth wall breaking by Martin - especially when he mentions that clearly the actors look nothing like who they are playing, and that some artistic license was taking in telling the story (Like probably not a food fight at the end ala Animal House)

Oh - and that Miss Marshmallow had much bigger tits in real life.

The Ex Machina musical score is magic. It captures that crazy computer Portal vibe perfectly.

super troopers 2. i actually didnt expect much cos its hard to bottle lightning twice, but it totally delivered. not many people in the cinema but people were pissing themselves every 5 minutes.

On par with the original, Farva really stood out in this one.

Way overhyped and way too serious. Andy Serkis had the best character and he gets unceromoniously executed halfway through the movie. The gadget girl (shuri) coming in a close second.

Good stuff.

The first visit allowed Ruffalo to explore the character. It was the first time he could see himself portraying the Hulk in real-time and at times got... a little too wild with the other performers.
That would have been something to see.

Loved Thanos. Easily the most complex and thought out Big Bad in a superhero movie since forever. Can't think of anyone that comes close.

Infinity War

So has anyone proposed that the ones that disappeared are the ones that "stay alive" and the others are left in a bad place? Given the nature of contracts and expected up coming movies etc.

I'm on board with the theory that there's good reason why the acquisition of the Soul Gem got so much screen time and significance in IW, why it hasn't been revealed before now, and why it's power was never used onscreen outside of the big snap. The snap doesn't perma-kill, it simply transfers them to the world within the Soul Gem, where they can be transferred back once Ms Marvel and Adam Warlock (who himself has some huge links to the Soul Gem) get some screen time.

I was thinking maybe some time reversal business. Of course that has the problem of how far back and why stop at any particularly point. I wonder if Thanos himself is the one who decides to put things back as they were. As Red Skull said everyone thinks they are prepared and all find they are not.

Shit you're brave being on the internet let alone this thread on this forum.
I was in a total media blackout almost between release and me seeing it in the weekend. Was happy to go in blind.

Ant-Man And The Wasp - Trailer 2

Very excited for this.

I wonder where this will fit with IW? Does it take place before, or after the events of IW are resolved? I can't see it happening while IW is unresolved, it wouldn't be believable unless everyone was reeling from the trauma of what's taken place.

One theory is that they are transferred into a parallel universe. Where they believe they are the ones that are alive and the others disappeared.
And the Antman movie and the quantum shit is part of them being able to bring it all back.
I doubt they will use the time gem, that would be an utter cop out.
I think Gamora is in the soul gem, as she was the one that was sacrificed and we saw her at the end.

Planning on watching Blade Runner tonight for the first time in about 15 years - If it matters at all, is the Final Cut the best version to watch?

It takes place before. I imagine at the end of the movie, he will be placed under house arrest.

Definitely. I did a "refresh" with the director's cut (At least I think it was the director's cut) just before going to see Bladerunner 2049. All up it is a very good story. Keep in mind that Scott disowned the official "Director's Cut", so look out for 2007's Final Cut

Oh also, +1 for Annihilation. This director knows how to eschew the Hollywood happy ending, a good story demands a fitting ending. It was not all a dream, it is as bad as it appears, there is no salve for the sense of dread that has been cultivated... feels good.

I recommend Ai Wei Wei's Human Flow. An up-close study of the global refugee crisis.

Deadpool 2 is very... Deadpool. Constant references, breaking the fourth wall. Hilarious, gross, unexpected.

A good watch, don't take the kids.

I enjoyed Solo. The characters felt a bit light for their dark circumstances and I didn't really feel like I was watching a young Han Solo, but it was still a fun movie.
