I noticed Bitcoin is bouncing, dragging everything else up.
I'm ETH broke now, needed the monies awhile back. Gonna regret not having my 32 that's for sure. :/

My current biggest crypto regret is helping my mum buy some. Nothing worse than a non-believer asking "how's my bitcoin doing?" during 2018, 2019 when it was at a 30% loss, then not even asking about it when it turns into almost 300% gain. Don't waste time on non-believers, folks.
Meanwhile she has a 20-year old stock investment in some NZ housing developer (Stryder? who gives a fuck) that has netted her a 20% loss over 20 years... fuck, that. Bitcoin is the best savings account in the universe, best investment of the past decade, and the soundest money you can hold in your virtual hands. Also, smart move saying you're crypto broke. Never talk honestly about your portfolio. Last edited by Nich : 14th November 2020 at 15:38. |

also, this is a great idea to measure base level understanding of crypto in silicon valley:
https://twitter.com/glozow/status/13...076416000?s=21 "Female, 22. Hi im new to silicon valley and need a manz to explain bitcoin to me." trap set. |

I'm expecting things to blow up for Ethereum once staking pans out. Won't be hard to write up some nice tidy contracts for a shared pool. Pretty much any amount of money will get you on the ladder. Of course, the more the better.
Then once it's stable, nodes everywhere, we'll see another explosion as layer 2 solutions become ubiquitous. At first people won't have a clue what they're about, what use they are. Then it will be everywhere.

ETH 2.0 Deposit Contract 100% fulfilled. 613,280 ETH Valid deposits and 19,161 Validators at the time of this post.
This is the true beginning of the Ethereum ecosystem.

jesus when did ETH hit 500USD? Cashed in my meagre wallet earlier this year to pay bills and I've been too busy being poor to pay any attention to crypto charts at all.

Is it worth starting to get into crypto currency at this point? It feels like it's so heavily geared towards early adopters ..

Absolutely. We're in the early adopter phase. Very early. Although, I would scratch out the "currency" part of your question.
I put together a document for a friend of mine summarising the blockchain landscape about a year ago. It's written to be understandable over accurate, but it's more than good enough. Some of the transaction cost/speed data is no longer accurate, but it still gives an idea of the important differences. If you want to take a look, send an email to my lightspeed@nzgames address.

HENCE WHY FOREVER ALONE

My crypto holdings are now approximately equal to my investment in solar - which I always said was the point I would exit. But since I'm employed, I might just HODL, since I don't need the [fiat] cash at this point in time.
Gold has taken a relative dive (especially in NZD), silver is holding strongish... Buy whatever you can afford, buy what you believe in, and consider this: "The United States printed more money in June than in the first two centuries after its founding" Also, my rates valuation for my house arrived in the mail - the CV is more than 2.5x since the last CV 3 years ago - land massively, house improvements significantly. Not that I care about the numbers - I'm not selling or trying to "trade up", but it's inflation/money printing at work (IMHO), even if it hasn't hit all the everyday purchases. Everyone in the world is aware of the monetary madness (either actively, or poorfully), and everyone is doing their best to prepare, in their own way. Who will be "best off" I don't know, but a dollar sure ain't worth what it used to be.

Strange - ETH2 hype, lots of Bitcoin coverage in "real" media - and both are down today.

If you can figure out the rhyme and reason to crypto prices, you can become very rich.
But you'd probably be better off taking your money down to the track. I know a number of people who blew their gains, thinking their one good decision meant they knew what they were doing.

Bitcoin just had the single biggest monthly candle in its history (like $6k gain or something insane).. wise people are taking profits. Price drops off.
Also, a bit of buy the rumour sell the news going on. |

Confession: my kids are getting some presents this Xmas only because underemployed daddy put his penis on the table next to the hammer, got back into the game with money he shouldn't have used, juggled some coin for a couple of weeks, made more good calls than bad ones, and got out before the hammer came down.

I'm still staying away from crypto. I still see it as less of an investment and more of a visit to the Casino with extra steps.

Under the current financial system, that applies (to various degrees) for just about any investment. Probably less so for the likes of property, but eh

only make money if/when you sell . But yes, enough to tell employers to take their job and shove it, not enough to tell property managers to take their rent seeking and shove it. Patience.
Got to have an exit strategy. Mine is not so much a number, but rather the crazy -eyed euphoria I got in Dec 2017. That's when I sell. I worry tho, Seeing bitcoin jump almost $4k in a day only gets a smirk and a raised eyebrow these days so I may need to recalibrate my investing emotions. In other news XRP is accused by SEC of its tokens being treated as shares in Ripple Labs. Ru roh! Threats of delisting XRP from exchanges lest they be subject to sharemarket regulations... annnnd rekt.
